Steam Summer Sale

  • I was going to make a list, but it is pretty much Scott's list, verbatim.
  • IIRC, one year it was in August.
  • Maybe it'll be July 25th and be a Christmas in July sale. That is on a Thursday.
  • My list is:

DmC (if cheap, like $12 tops)
    System Shock 2
    Trials Evo Gold
    Dust
    Swapper
    Magrunner
    Element4l
    Gunpoint
    UnEpic
    Surgeon Sim (maybe)
    Super Puzzle Platformer
    Sanctum 2
    Prison Architect (if cheap)
    Skulls of the Shogun
Kenshi (although I might need to do some more research)
Interstellar Marines (also more research but looks cool)

There's some others that I'll get if they're really cheap but they're moreso games that I would probably play for an hour or two and then stop. Like Fist Puncher, that D&D arcade game, Star Trek game, Stealth Bastard, etc.
  • Oh yeah. I do kind of want Surgeon Sim for the lulz.
  • My list is:
    Grid 2
    Remember Me
    Trackmania Valley
    Trackmania Stadium
    NASCAR 2013
    F1 2012
    Sniper Ghost Warrior 2
    Kerbal Space Program

  • Forgot about Tomb Raider, Dishonored, and Shank. All depends on price of course.
  • I'm kinda disappointed with tomb raider. I got really bored of it pretty quickly.

As a fellow racing game nut, what have you heard about MotoGP? I've always wanted to get into motorcycle racing games but I don't understand when to use front vs rear or both brakes and it seems so much harder to stay on the racing line in games I have tried.
  • I've heard very little about MotoGP and I've never played it so I have no idea.

I'm seriously just wanting Fez + Soundtrack bundle and I'm good.

However, if any of the other DLC to BL2 goes on sale that's not part of the Season Pass, I'll probably get it.
  • Totally shopped; those reflections are all wrong.
  • If this is legit, I will be too busy processing out to see the sales. Someone let me know via Twitter if Fez is on there with soundtrack.

  • I should set up a meta interface for Steam. You could enter limit orders (like in the stock market) for games based on price.

    Genius.

  • Bonus points if the data is available in a "market data feed," again just like the stock market. You could see the "order book" and know EXACTLY how much money you'd make IMMEDIATELY if you lowered your price to a certain point.
  • Kinda off-topic, but totally related because this is what's preventing me from actually playing all the games I bought in the last sale... I'm in the market for a game pad for my PC, but I'd rather not actually shell out money to buy a wired 360 controller if I don't have to.

I have a 360 play and charge controller USB dongle thingy which I am aware will not work; but I also have quite a few spare PS3 controllers that I heard could work. Did some Googling and most threads lead me to MotionInJoy, which by some accounts looks and feels like a shitty piece of malware and requires a constant internet connection (usually not a good sign.)

Has anyone had any luck getting a Dualshock 3 to work on a PC otherwise? Or is it worth it to just shell out the 30 or so bucks for a wired 360 controller that will just work?
  • Wired 360 controller.
  • You could get a used one for cheap.

Also what do you mean the USB dongle thing doesn't work?
  • Shell out the money for the wired xbox controller. It just works straight away. $30 isn't that much and if you spend too much time fussing with other options you'll be losing money.

For $10 more you can get the legit wireless controller with USB dongle.
  • Wired 360 controller it is then.

I'm talking about the Xbox 360's Play and Charge kit (http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-play-and-charge-kit/40650)

The USB cable that comes with it only connects to the battery in order to charge it, rather than connecting the controller itself to a PC/360.
  • July 11th would be annoying for me. I'm out of town the entire weekend.

July 11th is tomorrow, a Thursday.

I use the SNES retro port for games, granted I normally play indie games and titles that do not require that much input. But I heard a PS3 controller also works well.

Also the N64 one is bad ass if you like to emulate N64 games.

  • I also have NES/SNES retro port, but I use those for NES/SNES emulated games. Most PC games are made for the 360 controller.
