  • I did not notice that.

I've played plenty of solo-queue games with organization. Someone just has to be the guy willing to be commander and the rest just have to listen. Its actually kind of like the commander in NS except you have to command while playing the same game.

Imo, teamwork is the highest factor in determining who wins. You should learn it early.

  • At the moment I play to kill time and veg. I know how to be a serious gamer, but I'm not playing for serious at the moment.

Sure communication and cordination happens among randoms, but especially on lower skill levels 5-man party who not only communicate, but also know their roles and what they try to do as a group will be better than 5 random guys, even if the 5 randoms happen to communicate.

  • Dota 2 is out.

Don't play it, you won't like it.

  • Hmmm... fair enough.
  • So while I don't really enjoying playing DotA 2, I actually enjoy watching it! Turns out there is a huge tournament this weekend so I'm going to have a stream open all day.

Yeah, it's the opposite of basketball, which I enjoy playing but hate watching. Civ is another one that is great to play, but boring as fuck to watch.
  • I'm watching the joinDota stream http://www.joindota.com/en/live/jDRed Are there any better ones?
  • It's not on twitch.tv?
  • It's a twitch stream but embedded on the caster's page with a bunch of other tools to track the games.
  • Giant Bomb has a stream. But I just like going to Giant Bomb.
  • Link? Their main twitch is offline
  • Watching in the client is also a good option, gives you freedom to look things on your own. Move camera around, check the tooltips for items and skills (if you need that information).

Their ongoing live show links are right next to their logo. I think they might just be streaming someone else's stream but I'm not sure since I don't know their Daily Dota crew but it doesn't seem like it's hosted by any of the Giant Bomb people.

EDIT: Yeah they're showing like 5 different streams from other people.

TotalBuiscit's Dota 2 videos are good at helping you understand different heros.

  • That dude has so much health.
  • Actually, it looks like everyone's a really low level and just aren't doing much damage. You can tell about how much health someone has by the number of health blocks.
  • You are missing the point there, rubic stole the centaur that was about to stun the bane to stop the channeling of the skill by stealing enchantresses enchant and using it against her own controlled neutral, brilliant play!
  • Brain Lee (aka, the guy who pulled this off) responds:

Oh, it was Rubic who stole the centaur. I kinda assumed that there was an off-screen Chen who did it.

You know so perfectly what goes on in the game.

Also, real men and women watch 4 streams at once. Though a bit late now.

  • I've installed the game and decided I'm going to learn this shit.

Welcome to my club of sadness. After we get killed, again, let's play Civ V.
  • Everyone play Civ V enough to be competent, and we'll start a big old game in the fall right after PAX.
  • I'm ready to go Civ V anytime, but I'd actually like to finish a game for once :(
