I missed it, but I heard the middle round was like 99 minutes long?
It was. Game was long and perfectly demonstrated how ridiculously good those teams are at executing. To crack base you need mekansm, aegis, 20k gold lead and a pipe. DK had no pipe.
That was a great game. Amazing how they decided to end it after the mid racks. I didn't think TLQ was this strong as LGD is one of the best Chinese teams.
I only barely understand most of what's going on, but it seems like the team with IO is always winning, and always gets picked with the first pick. If you have the second pick, why wouldn't you ban it? Is there some other hero who is even stronger that everyone is banning?
Io, if I remember correctly, has the highest win rate in competitive dota and is thus usually first ban material. It just seems that in this match both teams are confident enough that they can deal with Io and spend their first bans on stuff that their opponent is proven to be good with.

Have you not watched The International at fucking all? Like seriously? Wisp's been banned a shitton. Batrider is also been banned a shitton. These are ridiculously powerful in highly coordinated teams. What happened here is that both teams had to ban out certain signature heroes from the other team that both of them kept coming through, because those other heroes were so incredibly dangerous in the hands of the other team that going up against Wisp or Batrider was an acceptable loss. Everytime I saw Alliance pick Naga Siren for EGM I called gg, because he performed so absurdly well on that hero. Also gave me a shitton of fantasy points. Very sad there were no fantasy points for the last day though, because I had S4, EGM, KuroKy and XBOCT on my fucking team. Rest at bottom due to spoilers.
Go math!
Also, I was glad to see that in the last game they actually won by attacking the ancient.
Not the first time this International. The Alliance almost lost a game earlier in the bracket during a base race. But they distracted the other team enough for them to win by like a second or two.
SPOILERS: Game 5 had the Wisp-having team on the back-foot for a lot. Ridiculous plays by Puck got them back into the game and the advantage in the game. In case you missed the several hundred times it was quoted. "Loda said before, kills don't matter, gold doesn't matter. All that matters is winning. Killing the throne." Some wording may be different.
Comments
For those who fail on a regular basis and thus haven't seen this yet.
Na'Vi vs Alliance.
Best of 5.
Grand finale.
Fox only, final destination.
Go!
But soon we'll see if stats or Na'vi wins.
