  • I like Jem.
I have a friend from Puerto Rico. She insists that every Hispanic woman in the universe loves Jem and the Holograms due to most of Latin America having never let go of the 1980's.
  • I did "inspect element" in chrome, and I still cannot figure out how it is impossible to quote it. I do know what he did, though.
I'm pretty sure it's because of how the quoting code actually works; there's no ACTUAL post 22.5, so it just goes "wtf" and gives up.

Actually, it's because the quote link isn't an actual link, with no quoting code at all, because javascript in hyperlinks and events like onmousedown get filtered out as a result of the comment processing software.

    I like this Jem:

And why not? Jem is truly outrageous. Truly, Truly, Truly outrageous.
  • Don't be hatin on boku no Pico =(
EW! I like my BL older.
  • EW! I like my BL older.
I'll have you know that the first episode features an adult man (who very clearly has seduced small boys more than once prior to the events of the series)!
  • So... who actually posted that?
Nevermind, now I get it. Well done.
  • When I was a kid, I hated Spongebob...but I was randomly watching some new episodes this weekend, and I was grinning like an idiot over how insane the show became. Not in the skin-crawling John K way, but definitely in a really bizarre, 100% more amusing way now. It was a wrestling based episode, which really gave me flash backs to the Flying Butt Pliers.

Fairly OddParents can still fade away and implode though.
  • I often self-insert myself into manga and comics after reading them, which is really common. The kicker, however, is that I probably did this for Ranma more than anything. Freud would have a field day.

Heh, I did the exact same thing with Ranma... anyway, another dirty little secret: I like some moe moe anime and manga such as Strike Witches and the like, alongside the actually good stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Summer Wars and Eden of the East. I wonder if I have actually bad taste or just a few aberrant vices...

I wouldn't count Eden of the East with the good stuff.. I saw the first episode of Strike Witches when it was leaked on the interwebs. It didn't seem that bad. I mean, it was obviously just soft porn with action sequences, but it looked like it did that well, at least.

I'm not saying its a godlike triple-A class show. If I remember correctly Rym and Scott gave it a B+ which is about what I would rate it. I was using it as an example of a more plot driven, non-moe show.

Well there's the reason I tend not to listen to Wednesday episodes =P It's C+ at best.

Episode 1: "This is going to be an A anime."
Episodes 2 through the end: "Still good, but not as good as the first episode."
    End: "Meh."

  • My ultimate secret shame; I once powered through the Twilight books in order to figure out my sister's obsession with them (fortunately, she came to her senses soon after the last book came out). While the main character is terribly unlikable and causes all kinds of stupid bullshit and almost over-the-top misogyny, as well as being the least interesting and most passive protagonist in the universe, I actually feel the premise, setting and other characters are actually all pretty solid. It's weird, everyone rags on Edward, when he's actually a pretty good character save for the fact that Bella is like a weight around his neck, dragging his neat bits through the mud of wallbangingly stupid romance bullshit and focusing on "ooh pretty sparkles" instead of his surprisingly solid character arc before and during the story. For fucks sake, as part of his background story, he was vampire Batman.

While the Twilight books are terrible, the setting was salvaged by a fan writer into Luminosity, which is kind of amazing, because it replaces passive, stupid Bella with smart, driven Bella and leaves all other things intact. I'm actually glad I read the original books, because it made Luminosity a wonderful read.
  • I never read the books, but I never understand why she goes with the vampire when she could date a guy who can turn into a huge wolf. She could ride on his back and be all Princess Mononoke!

Something tells me Bella isn't the biggest Miyazaki fan.

You should read "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality".

  • I've...

    I've never played Earthbound.

Bella isn't anything, she's just a shell for the reader to self insert themselves into the story.
  • I've...

    I've never finished Earthbound.
  • I... I don't really like Majora's Mask that much. I've just never really cared for the timer. I know you can reset it, I know you can control it, but something about it is just off-putting.

Maybe it's all the mindfuck in the game itself.

    It's Ben. :3
  • Majora's Mask is one of those games, which, while I like it a lot, I can see very clearly why people would not like it. I wish more games of that ilk came out.
  • I don't really like any of the 3D Zelda games. They're too puzzle-y for me.
  • While that is not my reasoning I agree with the dislike of them.

Then why would you like any of the 2D ones, either?
