Question: Scott's always saying that you should only run pirate software sandboxed somehow. I get that. Now, that said, it's trivial to disable online authentication from Adobe and use a generated key to validate a copy of the Master Collection downloaded from their site. So, why not just run the keygen in a VM, and then plug it into a legit copy of the Master Collection on your actual PC?

Okay, there's a vagary here that I need cleared up. Why do we need do get the keygen and run it? Just boot up XP in a VM and do it all yourself, right? That shouldn't expose your system to any risk?
I don't know where to get the keygen, or which one actually works, or anything. If someone else has already done all that work, the keygen can generate a bunch of keys. Why not one person do it for everybody?

Scott, if you download the trial and block that in your hosts file, you don't even really need a serial. The trials are full-featured, but have a 30 day limit; mine expired ages ago. I blocked that URL and suddenly I'm back at the start of the 30 day clock. Yeah, there's some irritating splash screens to deal with each day, but you get a couple grand of software free. The nag screens only appear when you open up your first program in the suite for the first time in a given day.
Probably not. It'll just act like you don't have internet access. You can always try it, and then edit the hosts file back to its default settings if it does.

It'll be fine. When Adobe software (as of CS4, I believe) can't phone home, it just assumes it's legit, which is why the "crack" works in the first place.
So, never having owned a Playstation console my whole life, I feel like I missed out on a bunch of pretty classic games that I just never got the chance to play. I'm toying with the idea of getting a cheap PS2 on eBay. Thing is, I really don't want to bother with paying for games if I do this. I know that .iso files for Playstation games are a thing, but I think I've also heard that it requires some kind of hacking. Ok, what you're wanting is FreeMCBoot, go with the nooby pack. If you can find someone with a modded pastries then you just need to have them run the .ELF installer file and it will put FMCBoot, ESR Loader and others on your card. Then just patch your ISOs with ESR patcher and burn. They load up great.
Now, when you install FMCBoot, you will be given the option of installing just the files for your model or for all models in your region. You cannot, however use it in another region, though it's easy enough to install again.

Corollary: Are memory cards from other regions compatible with US PS2s? If I get a modded card here, I want to use it back in the states.
