  • Would anyone here hear the phrase "Fuck cats" and think "that's derogatory towards women"? Well, RIT's administration thinks so.

  • Okay, I am trying to choose which t-shirts to buy but I cannot decide which to choose. Therefore, I shall ask the forum. ^_^

Which 3 of these 5 4 are the best?

Edit: It was going to be out of 5 but I decided against one in the process of posting.
  • Which Castle and For Science. I don't think you should get any of the others. You shouldn't have more than none t-shirt of any one thing.

I agree with not having more than one t-shirt of a thing but I have had issues finding much. My usual sites for geek shirts, Jinx and ThinkGeek, have let me down this year.

Okay so. The "cats" thing was a bullshit argument, they probably just threw that one out there to make it a "gender issue" - significantly less negotiable than only complaining about the use of "fuck."

The ultimate result, though, was that the original "Fuck Cats" cover wasn't used. I read the whole issue today, all the other contentious stuff stayed in there. And honestly, I can generally understand not saying "fuck cats" on the cover of the damn magazine. Even if I'm fundamentally opposed to censorship, it's not hurting anybody to take it off, really. It's not that big a deal.

The issue is a bit larger than that. There is some debate about whether the university violated their terms of the club's bylaws. Here's an update with more details from Infinity Quad:

As one RIT Redditor pointed out, it may be time to resurrect Gracies Dinnertime Theatre.

That is probably the only definite buy for me so far then. I really do not care much for the either Portal shirt all that much now that I look at them more.

Anyone have any recommendations on where to buy geek shirts or just awesome shirts in general?
  • @SquadronROE: Honest question: Have you ever had a job you really, truly loved?
Interesting question. No, but I have had jobs that I truly hated. I'm not sure there is a job I could say I would love to do, since my interests change regularly. I enjoy my current job just fine, though, and money is not currently tight which is a definite win.

Keep an eye on TeeFury and Shirt.woot for a few weeks and you'll get some pretty great ones.

I asked the question because I thought I felt the same as you, until I had a job that I loved. It really changed my feelings on the matter, and I bet you would feel the same.
  • Possibly. My interests change rapidly, and I have things like a mortgage and car payments that require me to keep up a certain level of income.
  • Looks like I am going to be in a Pathfinders game soon and need a good name for a Dwarf Ranger, anyone with the Names Project Book can you list some from there? The book won't come in on time for me.

I am thinking of picking up Burning Wheel Gold but I am curious as to what else I should purchase to go with it. I know on the game's website it has the the Monster Burner and Magic Burner but I know that there is the Adventure Burner as well. What all should I pick up?

You don't need anything other than BWG. Only get the other stuff if you want it.

  • Not bad. Had a crack at Legends of Grimrock, it's not too bad, I like it.
  • Stressful, trying to find a job without a car is a pain in the ass and vice versa.
Insurance for a car if you're a guy in your 20s in the UK is not cheap.
  • Good. Flyers won in overtime (after being down 3-0 after the first no less), I bought a bicycle yesterday and I got a bunch of good stuff to read.
  • Also doing pretty well. It was nice and sunny out driving over to Nintendo to have lunch with some friends who work there.

BTW, as far as company cafeterias go, Cafe Mario is pretty high on my list. Their custom sandwiches and pizzas are particularly good.
  • What's the point of invite-only social networking tools? I want to use FFFFound because it looks neat and useful, but I can't because you need an invite to use it, and there's no place to request one. The exclusivity doesn't really make internet services hip and cool to me, it just turns me off of them a bit.
  • Usually load management.
  • Usually load management.
Yeah, and also they want to test with a smallish set of users first so they don't get a massive deluge of bug reports for things they're already working on.
  • I have need for a TON of dice. Where would be a good place to buy from? I could google this but I like having people's opinions. Here's kind of what I need:

    20+ D6's
    5+ D10s
    4+ D8s

    Ideas?
  • Chessex. They make all the dice.
  • Go to the nearest game/hobby shop you can find. They sell them by the boatloads and in varieties of colors.

That's not a ton of dice. Chessex has dice bags by the pound :P

Also, even if you think you're all set, make sure you keep a dice roller handy on your smart phone/mp3 player/Blackberry. No matter how well you're prepared, it doesn't hurt to carry infinity virtual dice with you.
  • Related random question : What is the most dice you ever rolled at once for a game?

I once rolled a hundred and fifty D6s worth of lasguns for a Warhammer 40,000 game, when I managed to catch a full squad of Chaos Marines in the rapid fire range of a platoon which had just come onto the board.

It only killed six of the ten marines.
  • I'll check out Chessex, I figured that that was gonna be my best bet. That's what my local hobby shop has anyway. Also, that's a good idea. I'll grab a dice roller as well.

Check out Q Workshop as well. They have some really neat themed dice. They are on Amazon and have their own website. I prefer looking on Amazon with them as their website is not that great but I really like their dice.

Edit: Not sure how I forgot to mention this but you can create your own custom dice with Q Workshop as well on their website.
