  • Heh, interesting thread.

    Desktop: Cloud Nine
Mac Mini (aka the development machine): Ultima
    Laptop: Heaven's Cloud

And every iPod I've ever owned has been dubbed The Pribnow Box.
  • Since my last posted I have upgraded both my Ipod and my computer, so an update is in order.

    Computer: Yoko (after Yoko Kanno)
    Ipod: Tsubaki (after the flower)

    My laptop:
Aronia, with two mount points that are called Caph and Enif.

As for a future computer, I'm thinking about naming it Dave Riley.
EDIT: I will log in as 'Joel White' and shall use the password 'Fast Karate for the Gentleman'. The guest account will be named 'Jack Bauer' with password 'notaterrorist', their home directories will be symlinks to my Fast Karate for the Gentleman podcast archive.

  • My new computer, in the spirit of some damn good anime, is kusanagi.
  • Nicely done. Also, epic sword.
  • My computers are all named after Fallout locations. I've got Vault13, Arroyo (RIP), and Megaton.
  • My family has a tradition of naming our computers after Disney characters. At one point we had all seven dwarves along with Snow White and Prince Charming in our house. We've overhauled our network since then, though. Currently, my computers are:

    Desktop: Nala
Laptop rescued from a dump: Zazu
Laptop I use for school/on a regular basis: Simba

My computers are named after Godzilla monsters. My flash drives are named after "Don Ramon" but since it's "La llave Maya" femenine (I know its not the same thing, but it's the name that caught on, like Kleenex) then I name them "Ramona n" where "n = n+1" every time I buy a new one.

  • My computers get named after Culture Minds. My tower is named Grey Area and my laptop Cargo Cult.
  • Titan - Ubuntu 9.10 install
    Pericles - Windows XP Drive
    Perseus - Windows 7 Drive
    Orinoco - External Storage
  • I have given these things names, but my family isn't geeky enough to understand the concept of this nor do this on a regular basis. They think it's weird, but I could care less. I'll also include my portable devices as well. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there seems to be a pattern between the names I give them.

Current Desktop PC (3rd) - Chandra
    My Laptop - Bowman
My Previous Desktop PC (2nd) - Tycho Magnetic Anomaly 2 (TMA-2 for short)
My First Desktop PC - Grue
    My iPhone - Monolith
My iPod Touch (now my Mother's since I got the iPhone) - HAL
My original iPod Classic - Discovery

I must say, I'm not as creative as you guys.

    Desktop: B
Not /b/, it's the initial of my first name.

School laptop is some sort of serial identification number.
My mom's little laptop that runs with a pentium 3 is called y0sxmyax2sb30xf, it was bought on ebay.
My dad's computer is called M because it used to be my mom's computer. Her name starts with M.

  • My computer is called "desktop" or "computer." Much like naming a car, naming my computer just seems a little silly in my mind.
  • All of my computers are named Spartacus.

...Just this one, actually, but it's a funny idea.
  • Computer - This piece of shit
    External HD - The external
    iPod - iPod
    iPod Touch - iPod Touch.

    >_>
  • Things have changed a bit since I posted three years ago....

My PC is called Cube, after a character from the SNES game Live A Live. My iPod is still named Quaid (after the Total Recall protagonist), but now it's Mk. III as my iPod's hard drive had to be wiped recently.
  • My iPod is still named Quaid (after the Total Recall protagonist)
Do you call iTunes "The Reactor?"
  • I do now.
  • All of my computers are named Spartacus.

...Just this one, actually, but it's a funny idea.
If you only have one computer you've spoken nothing but the truth.

  • My new laptop is named Cthulhu.
  • My new laptop is named Cthulhu.
Oh come on. That's just lame, and boring, and so unoriginal.
  • Has it occurred to you that I don't care? Not only is every single name in this thread entirely unoriginal, because just about any name short of randomly generated combinations of letters is unoriginal, I couldn't be bothered to go use Google on a different computer while I was naming this one for the first time. At least I spelt it correctly.

    Other flash drive- HOKUTO
