There was this anime that I watched while ago on Adult Swim that had some weird shit going on with a kid with roller blades and a bat. After looking it up I remembered it was called Paranoia Agent. It seemed pretty cool at the time but I really don't remember much of anything from the anime. Has anyone seen it recently enough or remembers it more than I can that would recommend it? The thing is I can't remember if it was good so I don't want to acquire it and then realize it was just 7 year nostalgia.
Oh yeah he made Papricka too. I found that movie to be kinda confusing and really weird. I knew that art looked familiar. Guess I'll have to start watching Paranoia Agent again soon.
I'm watching Death Note. I remember hearing that the second season (episodes 27+?) is bad. Can anyone confirm, and does this impact the main story or is it just a tacked on arc that sucks? I went looking for reviews but they're all full of spoilers. Normally I don't care much about spoilers but I think for this show they would make it a lot less fun to watch.
If it's the same dividing event that happens around volume 7 of the manga, then I can tell you that it's a continuation of the main story that feels artificially tacked on. Just watch for as long as you can stand it. Death Note is more than worth it for the parts that are good.

I think it was all worth watching, but I can see why some people don't like the second half. Just watch it yourself and form your opinions, you'll know if you should stop without finishing it.
I only went through a volume of the manga one day at the library. I'd like to read it one day to compare endings.
If you are HALF WAY through a show, you are already into it! Just watch the rest of the damn thing! My POV is that if you watch 11 episodes of any show, you are into that show.
To me, when new plot threads are introduced in the second half, it's not as enjoyable as the first, but the strength of the series does not rest on just one character.
I always thought that the first 2/3rds of Death Note is awesome, and the last 1/3rd is less awesome, but still good nonetheless. Just read the whole thing. You might as well! There are still some great moments in that last 3rd of the series.
Uchuu Kyoudai episode 2 still great. Some light comedy and the story is keeping me hooked. Definite A range show so far.
Lupin III – Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna Some green coat Lupin action. With a background story on how Lupin met Fujiko. After this first episode I'm enjoying it and looks like it is a 12 episode run.
I never had a big problem with the latter half of Death Note. It wasn't as good as the first half, but I still felt compelled to finish it enough to do so. The new characters weren't bad, just couldn't fill the shoes they were set up to fill. People who stopped reading because of that seemed silly to me.
I just don't get how you cant FINISH THE FIGHT when you're half way through a show, especially when you don't hate what you've watched so far. So what if it disappoints you in the end, or other people say it disappointed them?
BTW, happy that Lupin is getting streamed. Make it all legal, Japan!
Yeah, I haven't finished Death Note yet, but then again, I have a tendency of just dropping shows half-way through. It's happening to Escaflowne, Eureka 7, Gundam Seed, Princess Tutu, Read or Die, Slayers, Ghost in the Shell, Utena, xxxHolic, El Hazard the Magnificent World, Dominion Tank Police, and maybe Big O now. I really don't know why I just drop shows, even when I know their good.
I drop a majority of fictional things around 40-60% of the way through. Doesn't matter whether it's objectively good, if it's not resonating with me I just wander off to other stuff and then a few weeks later realize I've dropped it. Particularly with western things, the ending often doesn't add much that you aren't already getting halfway through.
I was actually only a couple of episodes into Death Note when I posted originally, but now I'm over halfway.
I still have yet to watch something that's objectively good.
Maybe you just want to sample a little bit of everything. It's most likely the norm that people watch series all the way through.
Do you get anything from not finishing a series? Maybe that it can't disappoint you if you don't reach the end? Sort of like music artists dying young.
