    RIP Ronnie James Dio.
  • Sing-a-long Tenacious D makes me very happy. You have to love the little touches they put in, like the angel wings when Dio mentioned the City of Fallen Angels.
  • I need something to listen to for when you're sad... not emo music. Just some real good metal to lift my spirits. I don't care what kind of metal.

Korpiklaani, Baroness, and Machinae Supremacy all make me happy.

Folk metal and power metal. Possibly folk power metal. Or Alestorm and Swashbuckle. It's impossible to feel down when listening to pirate metal; that's a fact.

Anyone listen to Am I Blood? These guys are pretty much Metallica if they didn't start to suck after the Black Album.

You clearly haven't listened to Death Magnetic.

I know the guys from Skull Branded Pirates - They're essentially my housemate's old band, Sans my housemate, as he had to quit because of how much time his university work was taking up - though that was back when they played regular metal, rather than pirate metal.
  • Pete, have you seen Swashbuckle play live? I DARE you to come out of one of their concerts depressed. They're hilarious.

No, I haven't. I missed a chance to see them with Korpiklaani a while back.
  • Ten genres of metal in three minutes.

  • Not sure how I feel about the idea of a metal concert in a movie theater.
  • I suppose it's better than not seeing them at all. Maybe if you could convert the theater to have a GA, you could have a sort of similar experience. I doubt it, though. I don't think it'll be the same, or even close to it.

  • I checked back a few pages and didn't see this so, enjoy/enjoy again.

  • I gotta say, I'm starting to like me the thrash metal. And the name of the song gets extra points from me for using the word 'Ninja'.
  • Hey guys, I'm in a metal quandary at the moment. During August, Megadeth and Slayer are both coming to Connecticut for a gig, which I'm excited enough to buy tickets for. However...they are both playing separate venues on the exact same day (the 16th to be precise). Megadeth at the Oakdale Theatre and Slayer at the Chevy (Chevrolet Theatre). I don't know a whole lot about metal, so I figure going to a live concert with either one of the most well-known names in Metal would be a good start. Yeah so...which do I go to?
  • There is only one choice.
  • I just realized International Day of Slayer is Sunday.
  • There is only one choice.
And that choice is to turn on the reactor, Quaid.

    OH SHIT

Time to call like, ALL of my friends. And start building effigies and pyre towers.
  • I love Slayer and all, but I would see Megadeth instead.

Sounds like he's singing in the shower.

EDIT: Van Halen's Runnin' with the Devil [mp3] is also hilarious.
