  • I still found it quite hilarious.
I guess I'm not sufficiently cynical yet. Some of my soul still burns, apparently.
  • Churba that video reminded me of this.
It's the same make and model of chopper, though as best I can tell, it's stock, rather than having the fixed rotor. I know blokes who could fly like that, but to be fair, they're all ex-Australian Defense force.
  • Wired magazine covers how gamers with lots of free time cracked a code released by valve yesterday. It's rather spectacular to read through how they did it. Slow scan image transmissions, morse code, dial-up BBS's... Fun stuff

What hilarious was reading the back and forth between gamers on the steam forum trying to figure out how to access a dial up BBS in todays modern times. Hello? Telnet much? Although, this has kinda motivated me to look into prices for USB Fax-modems.

Or Go on a murderous rampage culminating in an explosive and spectacular suicide. Hello, government people. I'm just making a joke. Please don't arrest me, even though I'm not from America.
Oh, and also, James cameron's next project is Basically "Battle Angel Alita"

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I can't wait to get my heart broken.
  • Bubble wrap: Endless amounts of fun foranyone.
My coworkers realized it was a mistake leaving me with all this bubble wrap for my bubble-popping addiction!. M'wahahahaha!
  • My co-worker and I were just talking about this the other day, and wondering what happened to the project in the wake of Avatar. This may finally happen?
  • Holy shit! Crazy rube goldberg music video!

    O_O That was fucking amazing.
  • OK Go always has the most creative music videos.

I think OK Go is building their career almost entirely on crazy inventive music videos.
    EDIT: DAMMIT SAIL!

It makes perfect sense when you think about how John Flansburgh of TMBG is their manager.

I would personally argue that Typical by Mute Math is the most creative video ever, but every OK Go video has been iconic in their own right.

I was going to add in that The Grates always have creative music videos, but I realized that only counts if you also think an LSD trip is creative. Seriously, WTF.
(Patience is still adorable though. I just want to hug the shit out of her.)

My sentiments exactly. Though Cameron certainly seems like a competent enough director to at least keep it from being a steaming pile of shit.

It better not just be "GIRL IN METAL SUIT: 3D."

Heh. It's a shame the youtube preview blows the punchline.

No, the punchline is still there, it"s the old Japanese man playing the game in a bath robe while drinking wine.

    From the article:
The movie will focus on the robot warrior Alita's early life among cyborg roller-gladiators.
Which is why it will be terrible. They took the least interesting and innovative part of the story and decided to movie-ize it. I'll stick to my old Alita anime, thankyouverymuch.

But "Cyborg roller-gladiators" sounds more compatible to the SFX porn that Cameron is so loved for, and it also reduces the amount of actual plot and character development that just gets in the way of all the action!

Heyy hey hey Roboto, it's not just all action. There's probably also going to be some pans across spectacular CG landscapes and if we don't get some robot humpin' in there too, I'll be greatly disappointed.

Actually, if he just does a Scrapyard with the attention to detail that he did Pandora, I'll be satisfied. People won't be getting depressed because it doesn't exist -- they'll be getting depressed at the thought that it could!
