  • Just confirmed, first TWO episodes will be available to watch on their website this Saturday. Team High Quality won't have to wait very long at all ^_^
  • Will the UK aspects of THQ be able to get on that?
  • No idea. It was just posted to Facebook a few minutes ago.
  • Oh shit. What time? Probably when I'm watching The Hunger Games. -____-
  • Well, it's going to be online, so I would guess... whenever you want?
  • Oh yeah. But is it limited airtime? Ah well. I'm still patient. I have so much going on these next few weeks that I'll be ok to wait.

It just occurred to me today while talking to a friend about the episode, but I don't think the first episode introduced a love interest of any kind? All of the recurring characters look to be way older or way younger than Korra.

It would be freaking awesome if there was no romantic subplot. How often does that happen?

  • Just watched the first two episodes. Pretty dang good, though I will admit that so far I'm not really seeing myself liking these characters as much as the original trio + Toph. I think a large part of that might just be because these two episodes were really fast paced, cramming you with information. Hopefully later on the episodes will slow down a bit and do more fun stuff.

Also, the love interest comes in during episode 2. Not going to avoid that one Xefas.
  • I kinda laughed when I read the name of the second episode. Poor Wash.
  • I just watched it. So many feelings and emotions went through me.

For reals. I honestly cried when I saw how Tenzin and his family arrived at the South Pole. I was so happy.

But yes, even though a lot of it felt rushed to explain a few things, I think they'll get more in depth throughout the season(s). I don't mind the romantic subplot at all, but that's my girly side saying that.

@Sonic, yes! I was thinking that the whole time. You know that had Firefly/Serenity in mind when they came up with that title.

Yeah, just watched episode 2. Dang. It's not the I don't like romance or anything. It's just that I have hamfisted romance in every other piece of visual media that's ever been made. And real life. Was just hoping for a break. But the original series didn't beat you over the head with it, and it was fairly cute and heartwarming, so I doubt it'll be a problem here.

Just watched first two episodes. It's off to a great start so far. Tenzin's kids are adorable. The metal bender Lin is quite the hardass. The bender arena matches seem like it would make a great multiplayer game. It's going to be interesting to watch how Korra deals with the anti bender revolt.

  • So Tenzin is voiced by J.K. Simmons. Once it has been heard, it cannot be unheard.

    CAVE TENZIN HERE

Also: I like how Korra is much more mature as a character than Aang was. It's a refreshing change of pace. She also strikes me as being very similar to Katara in terms of her personality.

Actually J.K. Simmons is just a pseudonym. His real name is J. Jonah Jameson.

I feel like she's more of a combination between Toph and Zuko.
  • I think she's a strong and compelling character in her own right without needing to be compared to others from the prior series.

But yeah, TOTALLY some Toph in there.
  • I caved and watched episode 2 last night. I regret NOTHING! Also Tenzin is amazing.

  • All this Korra talk is tempting me to watch the episodes, but I will stay strong and wait. You guys and Tumblr are testing my self-control in a big way.

    Go team pre marital sex!

Episode 2 was amazing! If you die in a house fire before you see it, you only have yourself to blame.

    That, and faulty wiring.

Did you not recognize the voice of Aman (masked guy, more than likely the antagonist of the sereies, at the end of episode 1)?

    I'll give you a clue:

I have to say that I am loving the music with the use of the ehrus and Chinese flutes. I feel a lot of emotion and feeling with them. I also like the when the action starts, the music has a lot swing influences.

Yeah. I'm very happy with this.

Yeah, I'm Team Couldn't Wait. I had a great week for my last week at my old job, was up early before I went to go watch The Hunger Games, so I decided to watch it. I had my cake and ate it too. It was damn delicious.

  • I love that the music is a combination of music very akin to what was heard in the first series and music that you would hear in Baccano. Also, bending gangsters? AWESOME.
  • I watched the first two episodes earlier today and loved them. Can't wait for this show. After just having watched the newest episode of Thundercats, it amazes me how much better Avatar is on all levels.

Could not agree more!!! The Track Team does a FANTASTIC job with their instrumentations. Side note: the end credits... they are absolutely stunning.
  • It's amazing.

Fun little thing about the Avatar Universe:

Water Tribe/Benders tend to have blue eyes. (Kitara, Sokka, Yue, Korra)
Earth Kingdom/Benders tend to have green eyes. (Bolin, Bumi, (Toph doesn't count because she's blind!))
Fire Nation/Benders tend to have auburn, orange/brownish eyes. (Zuko, Azula, Mako)
Air Nomads/Benders tend to have gray eyes. (Aang, Tenzin, Monk Gyatso)

I'm sure others have noticed this as well.

Found this on Youtubes for the music lovers. The main theme is, of course, my favorite. If you go to the actual youtube site, you can see in the notes and links/jumps of which song is which.
