Well this thread is titled Avatar: The Last Airbender, even though most of the recent discussion has been about Korra.

However, I'm of the ilk that prefers less separate threads.

I also do not read this thread on Saturdays before I watch the new episode.

  • You're right, but a wall of spoilers tags is ludicrous. Better to just not read threads on things if you're not up to date and care.
  • I also do not read this thread on Saturdays before I watch the new episode.
  • I generally avoid reading this thread until I've watched the episode, and the same with the MLP thread when episodes of that are coming out.
  • I feel like we can have a rule, once it goes up on nick.com you no longer have an excuse.

Well, I have to torrent it, and torrents typically come out a few hours or so after the episode, but I simply don't read the thread until I've seen the latest episode.

So, do we make a new spoilerific Korra thread, or do we make that this thread?

  • I pay for it via my amazon unbox service. :P
  • I think Amon is
Boomi. Think about it, he is the only one of Aang's kids who isn't a bender. Imagine how awful it must be to be the son of the Avatar and a woman who became a Water Bending master at 14, and have 2 siblings who are both benders. There would be so much resentment there.

Unless Bumi can change his voice, Tenzin would recognize it. Also, it just seems too easy, as neat as that would be. I'm expecting Amon to blow my mind.

  • I'm just waiting to see how it pans out, I really don't care to speculate. All will be revealed eventually.

You don't think that an organization that can create giant robots and electric gauntlets can't build a voice changer into Amon's mask?

It's possible, just seems...Meh. Besides, I don't want to think that Steve Blum isn't actually Amon's voice. He's too cool, I DON'T WANT HIM TO GO AWAY.

  • He also voices Tom on Toonami.

    Speaking of zipperbending...

  • My brother and I had a crazy theory. So, Amon said he was blessed by the spirits? That would make sense, the spirits could give him Energybending. He wears a mask that hides his face, right? What spirit do we know that deals with faces?
    Koh.

Yeah would love to see a return of Koh, i felt they could had expanded on new events and plotlines around him. Even in the first series, i remember the spirit telling Aang that they would be seeing each other again, though nothing ever came out of it. I wonder if the team could had worked that in somehow...

  • Finally caught up on Korra. Wow.
  • Have any of you guys read the Promise? I wonder just how canon the events that are happening are.

I've read Part 1. I'm not sure if Parts 2 and 3 are even out yet? But, if you wanted a brief synopsis of it...

Zuko is officially the Fire Lord. Aang promises Zuko that if he ever becomes like Ozai, he'll do his Avatar duty and murder him. Zuko immediately goes and talks to Ozai in prison and decides to start acting more like him. There are some Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom (some of which have been around for almost 100 years). Aang wants to dissolve them and return them to the Earth Kingdom, Zuko wants them to go to the Fire Nation. They compromise and decide to conglomerate them into the United Republic of Nations, with the oldest colony becoming the capitol, Republic City. Toph is teaching some relatively inane dudes some Metalbending. Sokka is grossed out that Aang is making out with his sister. Katara doesn't do anything of note. The end.

(Also, it had some weird pacing. And everyone gets a new outfit.)

  • Part 2's out (spoilers n' all that), Part 3 drops end of September.
  • Wow, the girl who was Princess Yue in that movie that shall not be named is the voice of Asami Sato.

  • I was commenting because I had just finished the second volume in which some semi-important things (on an inter-character level) happen, which might or might not affect theories.
  • Okay guys, it's official: the best piece of Legend of Korra fanart has been found:

  • That is the best.
  • An opinion on last week's episode 9 Out of the Past.

And eh to that fanart. I honestly don't care about the whole J. Jonah Jamison and J.K. Simmons.

I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly. Mako, you're a jerk. Poor Asami.

I never said I didn't think what Mako was doing wasn't wrong. I just said that the part of me which is an adolescent teen girl goes for the Mako x Korra love thing. I'm in no way saying it's good, but it's just a silly thing.

I really liked what this guy said, which is why I linked it. Hush, George. :P
