  • Going to a dance tonight. Yayyyy.

  • The orientation instructor decided to tell us some of the aspects about RIT that they're told not to talk about (parties and some...other stuff). Afterwords, I spent 4 hours in a LAN party then spent another 2 hours watching The Cat Returns as an introduction to the anime club. Fuck yeah.

I'm also surprised how easy it is to make friends. My conversations typically start like this:
"Man I really love [whatever it is I'm attending]"
    "Sweet, I do too"
    "DUDE BRO, HIGH FIVE"

I've met so many people now that I can sit together with whenever I want, it's crazy. If I don't, I can just talk to anyone nearby and there's undoubtedly something that we can relate to that'll kickstart a new friendship. No one's afraid to talk to each other like friends. I've never felt such camaraderie before. Every day I spend here just gets better. I've been refraining from posting in this thread because I would have had to done so every day.
  • Heh, welcome to RIT.

Shit, I just realized that I forgot to eat dinner because of my awesome night. Just like last night. Time to nom on some bananas.

Corner Store's still open. You have 29 minutes.
  • Went out to go to the shops and ended up doing a 6.2 mile round trip to a friend's house in another town, just because I felt like it and the weather was nice.
  • I got my Dad's Atari 2600 set up on our TV and I'm kickin' it old school.
  • Wow, why did it take me this long to discover Lox on Bagels? I'm going get cream cheese, capers, smoked salmon and fresh bagels now...
  • Buying tickets in advance for a tennis tournament is always hit and miss. I seem to have got a hit for tomorrow's afternoon session. There are only three Americans left in the two singles tournaments, and I'll watching two of them play tomorrow. That means the atmosphere should be pretty good, as the locals cheer on the locals. In the evening session I could see Nadal, for whom I must admit I have a man-crush. Of course he would be in the prime time slot, being number one.

I just got back from the bank with my mom and we have just set up my first checking account that has been extended to an online account. I won't go into the full details of the benefits that I get because it would be bragging which I feel is very crass on my part, but it is quite a sweet package. Needless to say, I've set up my account to Paypal, Amazon, and Ebay.

    Just be careful.

Size? sounds awesome, now you only need 3 more, some soldering a pane of glass and presto, coffee table!

It's a Chevrolet small block V8 350 so it's 4 inches in diameter with a 5.7 inch rod. That's 101.6 mm in diameter and 144.8 mm long rod for those of you that don't understand inches.

My plan was to just lay it on my existing Ikea coffee table. Not really in the mood to build something with it.

Oh trust me, I am not going to town with this account. I will only use it to get things that I want, as long as I have a substantial amount of money left after buying something.
  • Any doubt that a cute girl who likes Digimon and is also a Game Design major likes me (which everyone says she does) has all but completely vanished. Now, to build up the courage to ask her on an actual date. Hopefully I won't wait a year this time.

Do it now. Seriously. Fuck building up courage.

  • If you have no doubts, then courage should not be an issue.

Well, I have a million bullshit reasons and analytical crap in my head. Also, I want to get to know her a little bit more, and find someplace that would actually be cool for us to go and do something. Somehow, getting dinner from Gracie's doesn't seem that exciting.
  • Then don't worry about making it a "date". Just hang out with her.

Dude, that's what fucks you over. The girl I like is in this awesome fucking band, is a million times cooler than me in most ways that I can think of, and for some reason still seems to enjoy my presence/actually like despite my ability to make an ass out of myself in front of her whenever we meet. I spent a long while considering not talking to her because I wasn't "awesome" enough.

But fuck that. We're all awesome enough.

My Booh Yah: I made breakfast for dinner, but I don't have a toaster. Solution: FRY ENGLISH MUFFIN IN RENDERED BACON FAT. FUCK YEAH.

    Yeah man.

Now you go get to asking her out too.

That's what I've been trying to do, but as I understand it, girls really want guys to step up and make the first real move. I would love to just keep being around her and sort of fall into a relationship as we get more comfortable with each other, but...The chances of that happening are not great.

Two days, provided I see her. I'll make shit happen, one way or another.

    You've seen that XKCD.
