  • You can precache Novas at the beginning of the fight, too. You can maintain a stack of 5 cooldown buffs if you do them in rapid succession.

    200% cooldown = best.

I'm at 194% normally thanks to the way I set up my abilities, though I switched my shotgun out for an assault rifle to get some long-range capability without using magic teleporty face punch. I think if I switch to a machine pistol instead, I'll have about 200%-ish right off the bat. But it'll be okay if I do that, considering that I fired my gun maybe twice in the last three matches. I also stun-locked a few atlas mechs to death.

  • Ahhh...

I see why people are complaining about not finding competitive CS:GO games. They changed it.

If you accept/join a Competitive Classic game in the quick play, it warns you of penalties if you quit the ENTIRE MATCH before it ends at ANY POINT.

So, I joined a match. My team won the first round. All but two of the other team immediately rage-quit, and were banned from further matches for 30 minutes each.

    I <3 Vanguards.</p>
I played as a sniper right after, trying to level up my infiltrator a bit, and we had a decently leveled vanguard in that game, too. I suddenly knew how everyone else felt, I was almost useless, just this one dude carrying the team, zooming around and wrecking all the faces, even though he wasn't set up quite as efficiently as mine is.

Still gonna do it though, since it's far less of a problem in Silver-level matches.

I have a solution to this problem. Monetary penalty. Rage quit and CS:GO exits and will not relaunch until you pay the fine.

And what about people who have their power or internet go out during a match?

Fines increase with more quits. The first few are free. Then some quarters then some dollars. If you go long periods without quits, back to free. If your ISP fails that much, don't play.
  • Then you have the same problem

Also roll-cancel your novas for srs invincibility frames.

That's what I do with banshees and those crab looking bastards, since they don't stagger when you charge them, and they have that nasty insta-kill stab.

Meh. If you can't stay online reliably, I really don't want you in my "srs" games of CS. ;^)

Well I agree that if you're not willing to play competitively, or stay on reliably then you shouldn't play but introducing micro transactions will dissuade a lot of people from playing and seems greedy. I think they're solution is probably the best without being ridiculous.

  • I've been keeping up with ME multiplayer. I have a lot of fun with it. I still haven't unlocked a lot of stuff, including a bunch of the new stuff. I want the Geth Soldier they just released. <_<

I'm saving up my magic space dollars today till I can grab a premium pack - you get better chances of the newer and better loot, that way. It's not hard, though, I tend to get tons of credits per match, even on bronze.

  • I mean, yeah, but unlocking stuff takes forever. And I usually can only play a few matches before I want to go again. Even doing three gold matches, which will net me two Spectre Packs and one Premium Spectre Pack, will not wind up unlocking what I want. *Sigh.*
I still don't have the original Asari Adept. The original one! It's silly.

I really don't care much either way, since I have fun no matter what I'm playing with. If I get something cool, then that's good. If I don't, then whatever, I can still have fun anyway.

I do have like a million of every helpful equipment but for medi-gel, though. Missile launchers, random rail amps and shite, I don't even know. I don't really need it, so I pretty much never use it.

  • I like a lot of characters, but I want weapons/characters that are cool. For me, most of the reason to play is to unlock new fun things to try out.

I'm doing okay, I have a javelin sniper rifle that's good (and a turian one that shoots rockets, it's kinda useless, but cool), The mattock and the vindicator assault rifles, and that's about it. Everything else has been characters(that I already had, so free XP I guess) or weapons that I already had.

  • Javelin is very good. The Krysae used to be broken, but they weakened it and made it less so. The Mattock I like, Vindicator I don't care for.
  • Don't buy anything but PSPs ever! Unless you really need medigel or something, in which case get an equipment back. But PSPs are like 30% more effective at getting you stuff.

I've never had a problem with unlocks. Got my Kroguard day one. Got Vorcha day one (INFINITE HEALTH). Don't care about most other things. I suppose if I did I would think less fondly of ME3 multiplayer, but I play mostly powers-heavy classes, so I don't worry too much about getting stuff, I just let it come as it do. Haven't played the new expansion yet because I'm boycotting it: no Volus Vanguard = no sale.

    BRING BACK BIOTIC TRUNDLE.

I like the LoL for this. It gives players the chance to report other teammates for leaving or other grievances, but it's not automatic. I normally don't get pissy unless the match is PVP, and even then I'm ok if they give a good reason for leaving and apologize beforehand.

However leaving a Ranked match should be penalized by "Bricking" or another violent form of castration.

Vindicator is better for my engineer, because I'll smash them with my incendiary, and then just top them off with two quick bursts. For the soldier, it's Mattock all the way.

Yeah, I mostly buy SPs, rather than SPS's, but I've not played for quite a while, I might change that now that there are about three times more characters in each class - when I was playing more regularly, just after launch, it was two humans each, and then maybe two other races for each class, so it wasn't an issue.

And if you need equipment, you can now get a jumbo equipment box with at least 10 supply items in it, plus an equal chance to get gear as the next closest to it's magic space dollar price, I think it's the veteran pack - and you can buy one after about two matches or so on bronze, or one on silver and gold.
  • The Volus Vanguard will be out eventually. But the Volus Adept is wonderfully fun.
  • Oh, and I always make sure I feed my fish and talk to Boo the Space Hamster before I head out on a mission.
  • Well, they changed it now so you can't get repeat characters after you've maxed them out, right? Not that I ever maxed out anything but humans, but it's nice to know that those gold slots don't go completely to waste, even if you do just get equipment from them.
  • You can get repeat Common characters, but not Uncommon or Rare.

I don't know if you've always been able to do it, but you can also promote them, and it resets the class to level one, and gives you a pretty good war asset in single player. You keep all the guns, characters and other shite, though, and if it gives you a character, it'll give you the same XP and appearance bonuses as before, and I'm pretty sure you can still get the uncommon and rare characters. Don't know what else that's contingent on, though - I've had Asari Justicar twice, if it helps.

Edit - Waitaminute, Axel, why is it that we don't play together? I feel this is a situation we must rectify in the near future.

  • Are we going to be doing ME multiplayer games now? I'd join, assuming my lappy holds up.
  • If people want to set that up, I'm down. I usually play Gold, but I'm up for whatever.
