Reminds me of something I heard said about the tea party; they basically want to secede from American society, since they don't like the way things are going. They're essentially demographic dead-enders.
What continuously amazes me is that, when Dan Quayle made much less stupid statements, he was publicly humiliated for months. Why can people say such stupid things now and get so little grief for it?
This is one of the reasons I think it's only a matter of time before the fundies gain the power to make the changes they want. This sort of thing should be an automatic disqualification for any public office, but no one seems to care.
If she really thinks God talks to her, what would happen if God told her to send a nuclear-tipped ICBM towards Beijing?
I had to take a step back. Dear god! How does she get dressed in the morning! Is there a special helper that puts her trousers on an wipes the maniacs froth from her lips?. Does she now realise what the renaissance did! Does she now know what it did for the world! This woman needs an education then to left to colour in a corner.
Gov. (R)ick Perry didn't do very well in college. I would say this would immediately disqualify him for the position of President, but we saw how well a severely retarded frat boy asshole could do a decade ago. Fortunately, Skippy McJackass went full derp, leading a prayer serviceand saying we need to get back to out 'christian values', which will fix the country.
You mean caring for poor and avoiding violent conflict and taking out financial institutions that where in league with organized religion to defraud massive amounts of people? Oh you mean Republican Jesus's Christianity! Republican Jesus and Republican Moses used guns to defeat the Romans!
I see that man and I immediately think of Boss Hog from "Dukes of Hazzard".
I see him and wonder how long it's going to be before he is found having sex with another man.
Well, there's this list and this guy and this other list and this OTHER list all about anti-gay Retardicans ending up with a touch of the gay themselves. Or sometimes more than a touch. I can only imagine that a guy who looks like him and stole federal money his party so despises to run a pray-away-the-gay center is probably wearing a pink thong and bra under his suit and constantly covered in a glistening layer of santorum.
So, tomorrow I'm attending an open house at the local Islamic center. I figure that since I'm already a Moderate Republican who is also a Zen Buddhist, how much worse can I do?
Hate to tell you this, but politics in the US doesn't work like that anymore.
Really? I hate to tell you this, but comments like this make you sound like a pompous douchebag.
A few years is hardly an irreversible trend in Congress. There are more politics than just the national Congress, and in many local and state arenas moderate republicans are doing just fine for their people.

Agreed, on a local and county level, party lines tend to blur a bit. As one state congressman once told me, "Most of us would call ourselves either Yellow Dog Democrats or Boll Weevil Republicans."
Covering local politics for nearly a decade, I've noticed that local politicians are far more likely to talk across the aisle. However, their voting habits are still tied to the party with steel bands.
And worst of all, the money is still strictly partisan. If you want reelected and you want R or D or L money, you'd better do what R or D or L want.
I've seen city council members roped into after-meeting party discipline hearings for speaking out of party line. I've seen blocs enforced. I've seen Republicans cut off from Republican funding for daring to admit that a Democratic measure might have merit, and vice versa. I've seen all the worst things happen on the local stage that happen on the national stage.
*Yeah, this post DID go through about six edits in the past 30 seconds. Deal with it.
I'm seen the same level of bickering on the local level as the national level but, I've found that outside of the level they participate in, they can be all over the place. (I'm pretty sure my democratic councilwomen voted for some republican state candidates) Though my area breeds a really weird group of politicians, people change party quickly for advantage and it's a lot more personal then actual political ideologies around here.
We also still have quite a bit of moderate republicans in our area. In general the two state guys who represent me are as milk toast and moderate as you can get and still be a republican.
Evidentally, I need to be more liberal in my use of greentext. Oh well. Here's a link to something that actually happened. Your tax dollars helped buy that stationary, ladies and gents.

And here I thought racism was dead.

No, I guess you're not kidding.

Here's her husband:
Court-martial ahoy!
Unrelated: This resemblance is both uncanny and frightening.
