  • Regarding anything right now England and Germany should be 2-2. That referee sucks!
  • Wow, I am sorry Englad 4-1 is something hard to swallow but your defense needs some work. Though I believe that disallowed goal took a lot from your spirits.

Didn't seem like it. After that happened they seemed to go into overdrive for the rest of the half. The goal from Muller to put Germany up 3-1 seemed to be what killed their spirits.
  • Schade England, alles ist vorbei! Alles ist vorbei! Alles ist vorbei!

It really should have been 2-2 during half-time. It would've changed the second half somewhat, but I doubt it would've changed the end result. Germany played out its counters magically well. 4-2, good game England, good game. See you in 2 years, k?
  • England deserved that loss. They've played a mediocre game the entire cup.
  • I hope something like this doesn't happen on the remaining World Cup

It is kind of scary :O
  • I'm sorry Mexico. I was rooting for you.

Has anyone counted how many bad calls were in this World Cup? It seems like at least once every day there is a wrongly disallowed goal, or vice versa. With all these huge officiating errors the legitimacy is heavily, if not completely, drained. Is the champion the real champion if they earned it on top of a pile of non-goals? I hope there are one or two huge officiating errors in the final game that will bring shame to FIFA and force them to use replay and such.

    Scary hot.

I think what they probably need to do at least, if not work out some form of replay, is add 2 more refs. One behind each goal. They also need to have the main ref start conferring with the others on calls.

No, fuck that. Give me one good reason that any such compromise is necessary. Just one.

Every professional sport should use all available technology to minimize officiating errors as much as is possible. Getting the right call is priority number one. Fuck tradition, or any other sentimental bullshit. Get the right call. At the bare minimum they need video replay of anything that is questionable.
  • This is what many are asking for.

I like how everyone, lacking a better word to use, kept referring to match analysis systems as "Technology".
"We have.. technology that we should be using."

I think this way of speaking should be encouraged. For instance:

"We could solve this if we just had more.. technology."

    Racism is kinda sad, though.

    Yes, stop crying.

More refs? You're insane? I've been saying it for the last 5 pages, 4th official can just look at the video from cameras already in the stadiums. That's all they need to allow.

Fuck you, you're the idiot that knows nothing about the game as you've shown time and time again. You are not allowed to speak. Now bugger off.

I know about games, in general. And here are some facts that can not be disputed.

In a sports tournament such as NFL playoffs, NHL playoffs, etc. There is almost never a bad call. When there is a bad call, it is a huge fucking deal. MLB had a bunch of really bad calls on home runs, plays at the plate, plays on bases. They are starting to use replay, but it's a huge problem.

In just one World Cup we have seen multiple tournament-changing absolutely incorrect calls. Today saw TWO in ONE DAY! Even if I don't know anything at all about soccer, that doesn't mean anything. If you have this many bad calls with such gigantic consequences in any sport, then it is fucked the fuck up. End of story. Fix it or GTFO.
  • I just don't know why a lot of people (including FIFA) are so against even trying it out. People are afraid that replays would ruin the flow of the game or be abused by teams for every little thing. I would rather them try out a challenge system ( about 3 per side) and work out the kinks over time than have another World Cup tainted with this stuff.
  • Wow, I am sorry England
I'm not. I spent a fucking week hearing "How's that 4-0 loss feel?" and having people ask me if I felt bad when I watched the game.
I was definitely barracking for Germany, this game - and not just for that, but the English team are arrogant jackasses. They simply had no chance of winning this one, and the missed goal was irrelevant - because a 4-1 loss is only the tiniest bit of shame worse than a 4-2 loss.

Well then, Scott, I would suggest that you kindly get the fuck out. The rest of the football-watching world enjoys and respects the fallibility of a game that is entirely human, and the most popular sport in the world will not suffer any great loss because it doesn't live up to your standards and you stop watching. I watch games with some of the hardest-hitting English fans this side of fucking London, and even they said their team deserved the loss and they all hate the idea of removing human fallibility from football.

Fuck replays, and fuck you. More licorice and beer for Nine.
