  • We have red inserts on our wheels. They are very silly, but fit well with the very silly car.

Those aren't available in Australia either, might just be in the European and Asian markets where there are more competitors and potential buyers.
  • The grey ones sold in the US are about $100 per wheel. I have found the centers on eBay in black and white but not the spokes.
  • I echo the use of some kind of spray. Personally I'm going to Plasti-Dip my wheels black this spring as a trial run. If I like it, I'm going to take my time to actually spray paint them black and clearcoat them.
  • I would rather get OEM parts in original color but I can buy an extra set of gray ones, sand them down and prime them, finish with a spray can of matching paint. Only potential problem is the lettering areas.
  • Episode 5 of Top Gear is fucking hilarious.
I would strongly recommend it if you haven't already seen it.

The restrictions on testing the lap times of the LaFerrari vs McLaren P1 vs Porsche 918 seems stupid.

Porsche seems to not care, it's car is the only one which is four wheel drive and is far cheaper than the other 2 companies.

McLaren only seem to want to put a specialised car on the track with a team of engineers.

Ferrari only want cars bought directly without any modifications or engineering team tweaking.

I would probably go with the Porsche 918 since the company is not being a pussy.

Not suprising. This is the same company that sent Deadmau5 a C&D over his Purrari.

  • Doesn't first sale doctrine overrule their weird purchase contract?

It might have been over the custom "Purrari" badges he had made in the style of Ferrari badges.

It was. They didn't care about what he did to his car, what they cared about was the appropriation and modification of their logos.
  • Because clearly he was gearing up to launch the Purrari brand. :P

I wish somebody would gear up to launch him into the sun. Unrepentant dickhead.
  • I thought parody and satire were both protected forms of speech or did it happen in Europe?

It would be protected, but also note the timing - it was right as he was selling the car. Just having it is fine, but selling it like that would no longer be protected. Though of course, he denies that the removal of the wrap and badges was because of the C&D. And note, he wasn't selling it as a Ferrari 458, but as the Purrari.

  • Looking at a car completely on impulse tomorrow - an '88 MR2 with a 4AGE Silver Top swapped in. It's out of my current price range, but I HAVE to see it. I might just be stupid enough to buy it on the spot.
  • I wholly support this bad decision.

Oh baby, that's not even the best of it. Lightweight flywheel out of a 4AGE blacktop, Camtech Cams, Adjustable cam wheels, modern ECU with some tuner magic sprinkled on top(Haven't had one of those before!), custom alloy inlet horns, custom intake with filter the size of your fuckin' head, high flow cat, Calipers out of a celica with braided lines and vented rotors up front, WRD coilovers, swaybars and mounts, EXEDY racing clutch. I'm practically salivating over here. I want it so bad I can fucking taste it.

  • As your attorney, I advise you to buy a very fast car with no top.
  • Well, it is fast, but I don't think flashing my pitiful baps at him will help anything.

This is a car you should buy.

Update - I somehow resisted. I simply can't justify the money, and I'm sure as hell not taking out a loan for it. When it comes to secondhand cars, if I can't buy it outright, then as far as I'm concerned, I can't afford it. But by Christ it was gorgeous in every way.

  • Can't you like, drive it away and not let them catch you or something? I mean it's an intro course at Churba U.
  • While He can be prone, nay, notorious for making... interesting choices at times, Churba is no crook.

I'd say that's very much a matter of perspective, but let's just chalk it up as Chaotic good for now.

  • My brother was considering buying an '88 MR2 as well but ended up spending a bit more and getting a '98 Honda Prelude.

I liked the MR2 because it had that manual gear change and felt nicer around corners when we tested them but my brother sucks at manual.
  • Holy shit.

  • Massive crash literally 15 seconds into the AusGT.

I've never seen anything like that before. This doesn't happen with nose heavy american V8s, just never.

Wow. My high school level of physics knowledge can not explain that. How could the downforce on such a tiny rear wing be so strong as to lift up a front engine car like that? Was there something about the aero of the front of the car? Holy shit indeed.
  • Once air gets underneath, all bets are off. I've seen way worse on the old car crash compilation VHS tapes like "And He Walked Away 4".
