  • My 2014 Kia Soul averages about 24MPG but I mostly drive short trips. My best MPG was 36 when I drove from CT to Washington DC.

Fuel economy drops in the winter and rises in summer (22 vs 27).
  • How can anyone get good mileage anywhere between CT and DC on the highway? Mad skillz.

I could see getting good milage from Ohio to Illinois or something, that's basically find the most efficient cruise and maintain. But what route does one take to DC that isn't one step away from city driving?

Once you get past NYC it is pretty smooth. Even the Jersey turnpike is smooth.

Also, drive during the week outside of commute times.
