  • Also the Sailor Ponies seems very apt after the elements revealed a new power. It's only a matter of time before evil ponysona vs. good ponysona mashups.
  • That was pretty epic right there. I hope the rest of the season continues to be this strong.

    Also, I want more Discord!

I think this was the most animators-having-funningest episode yet. Drinking the glass and tossing the chocolate milk? That was awesome.

The explosion when it landed really made that for me.
  • Dammit, I want to see the episode.
  • Dammit, I want to see the episode.
    It's already on Youtube:

    Part 1
    Part 2
  • 720p version with commercials

  • Promised JTVH I would wait till she got home to watch ponies. This might be the greatest mistake of my life.

    Also, this.
  • It's only a matter of time before evil ponysona vs. good ponysona mashups.
In before, "I am a shadow, the true self" monolouge(s)
  • Poor poor Spike. He'll never go drinking again.
  • That ending was totally a STAR WARS reference. And yet, my roommate still didn't like it. Oh well. It's not for everyone.
  • Motorshy was great.
  • Twilight Sparkle fights for her friends.
  • The power of flashback saved the day.

Im sad to see Discord go, but i guess for a children's cartoon, they had to hit the point home, although him sitting there and taking the rainbow like a boss was so stupid.

I have to wonder just powerful how discord is, from all indication, he was able to wrestle control of both Sun and Moon from Celestia and Luna, although it could be argued from the way the elements only cleansed Ponyville, that it was only a local illusion

  • Discord-world is something that I will point back at for all-time great uses of the medium of animation. The ballet buffalo, the pony sneezing and knocking down Ponyville, but most of all, Discord's glass of chocolate milk. That glass was amazing on every level. The whole town looked like the Sonic 2 version of the minus world.
  • "Um, I'm just wondering if it's okay if I just hold you down against your will for a little bit."

Fluttershy typically isn't my favorite, but I think she was my favorite for these two episodes. Although Rainbow Dash zooming around while hugging that cloud was unreasonably adorable.
  • I have to say, fun episodes, but I feel like the rope tying scenes will be used for scary fanfiction.
  • I can't believe Discord is voiced by Q.

Why is that? It's quite possibly one of the best and more than likely intentional voice acting to characters I've seen.

    Exactly!
Hasbro giving them a very loose rein and generally a policy of "why the hell not?" was what brought it all together. Case in point: Discord. Discord was a character straight off Lauren's pen, because apparently she'd been bingeing on Trek:TNG lately at the time that script got written. She decided to play him just like Q, because why the hell not? She'd originally planned to have Discord voiced by a De Lancie soundalike; but then during one of the meetings, someone (Jayson said it might well have been him) just said, "Why don't we just try to get the real guy?" Sure it cost money, but Hasbro said why the hell not? And John was free, and he was game, so there's our Discord. Why the hell not?
    From this interview.

    Also.

You took my statement much too literally. I meant it's a fucking awesome choice. ^_^

EDIT: Did they seriously have a Star Wars reference at the end? Whaaaaaaa
