  • "That the plot is Twilight needing to become prom queen to get her crown back...."

I want to cry and laugh at the same time...its so sad, yet funny...
  • None of those would have been top ten worthy in previous months. Even the fan content is hitting the ramp adjacent to the shark.
  • Yeah, it has been a weak month, but I don't think that's enough to support that conclusion; there have been weak months in the past, and it's to be expected based on simple statistics.
  • Woulda been a good month in Spring 2011, but yeah. Well, plenty of effort still, and we should have Children of the Night and new Anthology and FiW episodes sometime this summer at least. I'm also optimistic about next week's Pinkie micro based on the preview. Second comic arc ended a little underwhelming, although not without moments, but Cook/Price will be back with a Big Mac 2-parter next month.

  • I enjoyed that.
  • Welp, I wasn't going to see the movie anyhow, but as far as I'm concerned, that was it right there.

70-minute documentary, and it's only part one. Lots of stuff that's easy to pick on but this is at least a big improvement on the De Lancie version.

  • Ah the documentary by Paleo and Sabrespark, been waiting for that for awhile!

I drew my OC pony. I had this one for awhile. I never really share my pony sketches. I was never really good at drawing ponies.

The last fifth of the movie is up on Youtube somewhere. Surely you all know where to look for leaks. I just watched it, and it's not very good. Yes there are a few funny things here and there and some winks for the adult fans, but the action scene is terribly laid out, the songs are flat, and things generally feel pretty halfhearted and underdeveloped, plus there's the cringey bits we've seen already. I would steer clear unless maybe you're the sort of person that watches Monster High for fun.

Now let us never speak of this again.

Today's Pinkie micro is very good. It does everything a strong episode of pony should do without breaking a sweat. The only thing I can pick out to criticize is that it doesn't feel like it's absolutely bursting at the seams like a Cook/Price book, and that's pretty much just a taste thing; it's certainly closer to show tone than Cook/Price.

Considering this is the first book the writer has ever done, I think it deserves a little pimping. Looking forward to the return of this team for the CMC micro in a few months.

  • Love the explosion at the end of that one. So wonderfully over the top.

First ever cover of a song from the comic right here.

  • Saw it. It was a full theater, everyone was super excited, it was fun. The crowd may have made the difference though because there were some moments where something probably would have registered as the obvious joke, but not actually been funny without the audience. Either way, had fun.
  • Jed is calling out for brony stories by women!

Request for Stories of Brony Women/Pegasisters/etc
I know at least some of my regular readers are women. I find myself somewhat urgently (it's for the book) needing to know more about what it's like to be a brony who is specifically a woman/pegasister/whatever you prefer to call yourself. I feel like a lot of attention is paid to male bronies and very little to the women in the community, and I know I've been guilty of that myself in some of my articles, so I'd like to try to write at least one article specifically about the experience of brony women.

Anyway, any story you'd like to tell about your experience of being a woman who is a brony is welcome, but if you want a prompt I'd especially like to hear any of the following:

Do you feel that, compared to the larger society or other fandoms to which you belong, the brony community is more/less/about equally a welcoming and safe space for women?
Do you feel that women are well-represented and recognized as contributors within the brony community?
Do you feel that media about bronies (news articles, Equestria Daily, the Bony Study, the Brony Documentary, etc.) accurately and fairly represent the women in the community? Do you feel that these sources adequately acknowledge the presence and contributions of women in the community?
Is there anything that you feel is unique about being a woman brony as opposed to a woman in another fandom/the larger society? Anything that you feel is unique about being a woman brony as opposed to a male brony?

My readership is pretty small, so statistically speaking there aren't that many genderqueer or intersex bronies reading, but if so, I'm interested in your experiences, too. Basically, I feel like the experiences and feelings of bronies who identify as men are well-documented, everyone else's less so, and I'm looking to try to do my small part to help correct that.

Please share your stories in the comments or e-mail me at froborr@gmail.com if you want them to be more private. I would like to quote the stories in the article where possible, so please let me know if I have permission to do so, and how I should credit you or if you would prefer to be anonymous. I'm in crunch time on the book, so I'd like to have the stories by the end of the day Saturday, June 29. I know that's very short notice.

Finally, if you know anybody who might have the kinds of stories I'm interested in and would be interested in sharing, please guide them here.

    Thanks!

They should give an epoxy or seguru rub over those embosses for the lowers - makes them look 200% better. Compare the logo on the first lower you posted, to the black-and-white art version in the same image - though, it was a bad pick for the art, it's dead hard to stamp that in that size without it looking like shit.

I like the grip on the S&W 1911, though. It's tasteful and understated, as opposed to plastering twilight sparkle and Rainbow dash all over your shit. I'm not against ponies, but I am against poor taste and low-quality decoration.
