    Don't believe Scott's lies!

Finally got Crazy Taxi on my iPhone. This would be a great score attack game if other people want to hop on board. Just got an A rank on Arcade mode/Arcade rules with $2,547 on my second try.

The port is actually great, better than I thought it would be. You lose some precision from driving without an analog stick or wheel(doing a Crazy Through is a bitch), but it's made up for by the fact that maneuvers like the Crazy Dash and Crazy Drift are easier to perform and crashing is a smidge less inconveniencing. It also feels a bit zippier than the Gamecube version. If you're on the fence, you should get it.

  • As an android user, every time I check this thread I have a tiny bit of hope that we got something cool. It's getting really depressing.

I can't play driving games on a phone. I've tried. Not even on my huge phablet. Tilt controls just don't work well enough.

Ikatono - there's LOTS of cool shit on Android, it just doesn't get hyped. 90% of the most popular games on iOS are just candy graphics + hype.

I meant board games specifically. Theoretically they're the topic of this thread.

  • Yeah, I'll give you that. It's a shame that they don't at least do something with the tablets that are now available, but I guess that truncates your market pretty badly since most people have iPad that have a tablet at all.

Crazy Taxi is touch controlled by default.
  • Letterpress is a fairly sick little multiplayer word/strategy game. Gotta build words out of a shared board of letters and capture the most letters on the board at the same time.
  • He, Matt and Scott were just talking about this on Twitter. I just recently downloaded it and was about to play.
  • If you wanna play a game go ahead and challenge me: reallyprettymad. This game is so cool so far. Gotta do a bunch of work tonight tho so I'll probably be pretty slow.

That sounds like fun! I'm getting in on that, too. I can't seem to find LetterPress. What is the app actually called?

  • I'm getting raped by Apreche. But in saying that, it's the first game and I'm still unsure of how to play.

I *think* that it's much more about creating defensive letters than making actual long words. ie. Build a base!

    Need to play more.
  • Yes. You want more letters in your color. Scott beat me too, but we both had good words going on.
  • Yeah, good words are one thing, but making those words further your board is another thing! Like if you have a solid letter, on your next turn do you try to arc another word around THAT letter, creating an ever expanding base?

    Cool idea tho. Simple.

BTW I'm at work, so sorry if I'm slow. Seems like a few people to play with here anyway :)
  • No Android version?

I think this is payback for all the times I made fun of Macs for not having games.

Or an old iPod touch for super cheap, just for these random game center games that everyone jumps on. Aka Super Hexagon :)

  • Geez. I just realized that you don't need to have letters be adjacent to each other. Damn!

    I feels your feels bro.

But hey! At least we spent several dollars on two new races in Neuroshima Hex to not give any fucks about because Blue is Best.

    Also made that mistake!
  • Defeated Scott. I honestly expected to lose, since he was controlling a large portion of the board for a while. I think this game has a lot to do with timing and knowing the appropriate moment to take certain letters.

Yeah, I had the same experience with Matt. It was very close. I was losing. I used the last letter while simultaneously using enough other letters to go ahead by one or two points.
  • God damn is it hard to turn a game around when you're losing.
  • At least you won vs me. I am still a loser. (つД`)ノ
