  • Nows the time for us from outside of the US to rise up and take over! When has that ever gone wrong...Where did I leave my red coat?
  • Please don't.
    Please do!
  • Friendly reminder to try and keep this forum SFW. No one thing in particular, just a few posts that have been kind of borderline in the WTF and .gif threads. Just be mindful.

Is NSFW content a problem? Has such a decree come from up on the heavens down onto us earth folk?

Well, a LOT of us read the forums from work or school, sooo. I'm not saying you can't post anything you want, I'm just saying to be mindful and to put it behind a link or with a warning if you have an inkling that it could cause a problem for someone else?

Most people do this, but as for the picture of the naked lady in the swimming pool and the gif whose first few frames is of a girl getting fingered...

  • I'd say best practice should be we put things like that in a spoiler tag. That way we can browse from work and still enjoy our furry tentacle porn.

Whoops, that was my bad. Wasn't thinking. I'd edit it, but the timer's run out.

  • Yeah, what Sail said, basically.

I already have a smartphone, and clearly, I'm reading the forums currently. I just don't see how the two are related.
  • Bourgeois assholes. Some of us can't afford data plans.
  • Data plan's $30/month. How much do you pay for your proletariat flippy phone?

  • I'm on a family plan. It's $25 now, but it would go up to $55.

Some of us don't live in 'MURICA.
  • I'm paying my parents for my data plan. It's worth it.
  • How much does your frou-frou Euro data cost Bronz?

Dataplans were too pricy, I'm doing the 'pre-paid' thing.

Keep your business personal. Don't cruise the net via work computers.
  • I was thinking this forum is sort of like the ol' bar that you can go in as much or as little as you'd like. It doesn't matter if it's been two days or a year since your last visit, it still has the same colorful characters doing the same routine.

Then I realized I never actually knew a bar like that and I was just thinking about Cheers. Then I realized this forum is actually just a situation comedy where the plot is predictable, gets wrapped up or abandoned within the week, and you can drop in or out at any time. Regardless, keep doing what you're doing, guys.
  • I know coffee shops like that. It isn't not not dissimilar.

I always wanted a coffee shop like that, but, unfortunately, so does every other person in New York City. Too much rotation means that no one is recognizable except the unfortunately memorable regulars.

Mhmm. I had a theory about that when I moved here and couldn't find a lot of friends. Basically, places I've lived before (Rochester and Berkeley, specifically) had a limited number of cool coffeeshops or places that awesome nerds congregated. That meant if I hung out in such places, I'd eventually meet most of the awesome people in the town, and form friendships. In NYC, there are definitely more awesome people to meet, but their gatherings are much more diffused. I've met a few cool dudes and ladies, but I run into people I know so infrequently that they are relegated to acquaintences, rather than grouping together into a "crew."
  • I meet only the coolest people all the time. I'm not quite sure how it happens though.

Hey side note re: you and NYC: you are in this MDE video I think.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdxFVFGdCpE&feature=player_detailpage#t=82s (can't seem to make it embed at the right time, so just copy and paste the dang link)

Thats you right? Met you at pax last year and then saw that like a couple months after. Thats the only clip of you in the thing, not sure if you ever saw it?
