So, I watched Samurai Flamenco. Pretty good ten episode show, really liked it. For some reason though they also had episodes from 11 to 22.
I'm not saying that all the episodes after ten were bad, but I felt that they were unnecessary. Multiple jarring tonal shifts without really giving anything significant in return. While episodes 1 to 10 were a good show, episodes 11 to 22 were mostly an entertaining one.
I tried to watch Attack on Titan. Sarah and I both did. We made it through like, an episode and a half. It's tedious to watch. I don't understand the appeal at all.
I guess very few dramatic adventure animes do it for me. They're usually also comedies, or soft comedies. Like Bebop, I can do, but Aldnoah, Titan, etc... I just can't get into them. Titan is just graphically gross, which also puts me off almost immediately. Giants running around eating people don't interest me.
I guess this is a pointless comment, in a way. I just wish I understood what the hook was.
I liked Aldnoah primarily because the protagonist is so flat. It's like, why's he so flat? What's his story? Was his family tragically killed? Is he a robot? Is he severely ASD? What's the deal?
Muppet you should check out Knights of Sidonia. It's uses the same ideas from Attack on Titan but puts a scifi spin on it. Main protagonist is more interesting to.
Thanks Mr. Bytes. I think I checked that one out a little bit ago and was intrigued. I'll have to go have a second look. I think I watched half an ep while falling asleep and so didn't get hooked, but I'll definitely try it again.
Just finished Gundam 00 and found it to be really (surprisingly) great! Now, I'm in the Gundam mood, but I don't know which series to watch next. Does Gundam SEED hold up?
Marathoned EVA yesterday to write an English paper, roommate, who doesn't watch anime, started watching with me around episode 16 and then watched up to 24 and the End of Evangelion. This broke him. We went to bed and I finished the last 2 episodes this morning.
OK, so I'm new to the whole anime world. We did just happen to watch the first few episodes of Girls und Panzers the other night. It was surprisingly enjoyable. Girls in high school competition battles in tanks. Everyone else in the room was perplexed.

Girls und Panzer is the most dumb amazing show I have seen in a long time. Genuinely hoping that they make a second season, that and there needs to be more of the fish dance.
Started watching the Berserk films with the little woman. The first was ok, Guts is pretty baller yo, but after the second one things got strange. At present we aren't so keen to watch the third due to hearing about the whole rapeyness.

I am literally watching this show with Nuri as we speak.
I am perplexed.
I mean, it's called Girls und Panzer. It has girls and tanks. I don't know what I expected, but somehow it has managed to defy reasonable expectations.

That's one of the reasons why I liked Aldnoah as well. It's somewhat hard to find interesting protagonists, but it's even harder to find protagonists who are fascinatingly bland.

"Why has morning come?" "Morning always comes!"
What the hell, Japan?
I think what gets me about this show is how they make little references to things about WWII, and they talk like they won...

Everyone was right it's super good. It even got me to yell at the screen when titan Annie was captured in the forest "ya done fucked up now bitch!"

Is nothing like gundam, and lots like Giant Robo.
Here is a sample.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso -The Feels!
And recently:
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - The humours!
Shin Sekai Yori - The tragedies! - Nice work on the review episode Rym/Emily.
Cease what you are doing and gaze at me.
Stop everything, save for the thrumming of your heart.

Has some of the same problems that I didn't like from Cowboy BeBop, but I'm liking this way more. Far more entertaining.

I do want to check out some more Lupin, but maybe something else first.
Anymore suggestions?

Then again, the same is really true of YuriKuma Arashi, but the absurdity is dialed up to 11 so it kinda works...
Sha-bada-doo.
