There's a manga I can read that keeps going, right?
The manga is still going, it is pretty good.
Was anything covered in the anime not the same as the manga? Should I read from the beginning of the manga, or from where the anime left off? What chapter of manga did the anime leave off at?
I couldn't get past 3 or 4 episodes. It's just too ridiculous. But then, I'm not a Dragonball kinda guy. The only sorta fighting anime I've ever really gotten into was 'Bento!'.
I was turned off by it when I was only one episode in, however, I came back to it later when I could sit down and watch the whole series and I liked it then.
Shirobako was my favorite of the season. It reminded me why I love anime and making art. It was a good insight into the anime industry and was surprisingly not too cynical, but still had that edge.
Death Parade was great, but I feel that it needed more. A bit more in story. I preferred the episodic style it had at first and it was slow at times. The design was amazing though.
Cute High Boys blah blah blah was just ok. The novelty of magical boys wore off after 6 episodes.
Tribe Cool Crew is my guilty pleasure. It's too 80's and silly.
Pri Para is another guilty pleasure. I love cute idols doings things.

I can't agree with this more. Shrobako was an absolute treat to watch, and I'm already looking forward to rewatching it after finals.

If anything, Shiro Bako made want to support the people that make the products we love even more. I watched Shiro Bako through Crunchyroll, and even though is true that I can watch it anytime I want, this will be the first anime in a long time that I will actually get the physical copy of.
Also, according to the Internets, that powers that be will be releasing "Third Girls Aerial Squad Episode One" in the summer.
In other news, Saekano had a very anti-climatic ending, Some scenes pushed the boundaries ( I think one more frame and it would be consider a hentai). Still I would have liked to see the story to the end ( there is always the manga).

During the long summer summer break I got a chance to read the manga in its entirely, and by that I mean everything that was translated (all the way to half vol. 27). Currently there are 38 volumes and it is still ongoing. The anime follows the manga pretty well, some editing had to be done for some stories (Akira's). Introducing background info for character development in the middle of a race was done perfectly in the anime and it did not interrupted pacing at all. In the manga all of its story was presented after the 2nd Stage, and it worked there because the characters and the readers were resting, if show during the race it would have dragged on, and if it was done in the anime while the characters were taking a break it would have felt like un-intentional filler.
Overall I enjoyed my experience with the manga, and the later volumes they even say what brand of road bikes each one of the characters rides and why they use those bikes.
TLDR: The anime did not cut anything from the manga. But, reading it was an interesting experience.
Tokyo Ghoul's second season has finished, and both seasons combined have made for an interesting show. It had the harshest breakdown of any character in an anime I've ever seen, absolutely relentless in destroying them before building them back up. It has some strong metaphors and messages about discrimination, tolerance, and how simply living makes someone into a monster without even realizing it. It had its weak moments, points in the show where style won over substance or the substance was so milquetoast that it was unpalatable, but the show recovered from those points well. The ending was particularly strong, easily one of the best final three episodes I've seen in an anime. I strongly recommend Tokyo Ghoul to anyone that hasn't watched it.
Still, I think it was for the best. It is not unheard of for the anime to differ from the manga. For a little while I thought "Man, if someone other than Onoda would have won, then the anime would have definitely diverged from the manga and start doing its own thing". I even thought that Midousuji was going to win against Manami for moment. The anime was so good, that made me doubt anything that the manga already showed me. Right now, out of nowhere today 18 chapters of the manga were translated, that is at least 2 volumes of the manga. I am confident that in one year we might get 2 more seasons.

There's a movie this summer. How far ahead of the anime is the manga?
The anime covered 27 volumes, according to Wikipedia as of last February there are 38 volumes. We might get a movie out of them. Here is to hoping is the same director as the TV show.
Zenkaikon reminded me that anime exists - everyone is talking about Yuri bears, so I'm watching Utena for the first time.
There is still a small possibility that this is going to turn into StrangelyKatie's Princess Princess - for the first half of the first episode I was pretty sure that was its deal.

Migi is a pretty great character.
Is Paraysite really worth watching? I watched two episodes and wasn't impressed at all.
Seriously? THIS is what so many of you twisted your panties over? That's a half hour of my life I'm never getting back.
I'm watching Sword Art Online now. It's so good.

Never Hulu. Never.
