Is it possible we might be able to get a "formerly known as" space in people's profile pages? It's becoming hard to keep track of who is who with all the recent name-changing.

EDIT: I know you can do it already, but I'm talking about one that automatically tracks your previous name or something.

That's what the avatars are for. :) Really, I generally recognize people here more by their avatars than by their usernames.

... With the exception of Eryn and I (and temporarily TheWhaleShark), everyone else still has a nickname that incorporates all or part of their previous name that is easily recognized. Or, as FunFetus said, you could just associate avatars, impersonation is frowned upon so... hrm, need new avatar.

Also if you're unsure, just ask the person in a whisper who they are again if you lost track. I'll just laugh at you though, since my new nickname is widely known within 10 seconds after me changing it.

    (and temporarily TheWhaleShark)
Rhincodon typus is the genus and species of the fish commonly called the whale shark, FYI.

  • I still can't get over "Neckpuncher" as a title. I laugh every time and picture someone that is a neckpuncher as a full time occupation.
  • What kind of court system do you have in the US if you don't have neckpunchers?
  • What kind of court system do you have in the US if you don't have neckpunchers?
A crazy complicated one. And New York always has to be friggin' special...OMG, don't get me started.

The first court in New York is the supreme court which is pretty bad because in other states, there are usually more before it.

Yeah, what with our naked assertions and further factual enhancement and all that jazz.

By "first," he means the initial trial courts (notwithstanding a bunch of specialized subject matter courts and local courts and other crap...). There are 2 levels of appeals courts above it. The name "Supreme Court" is misleading because it isn't the final say in the NY State court system like the US Supreme Court is in the Federal system. Most other states have the highest level appellate court named the Supreme Court.

    It's not bad, just confusing.

That was a SCOTUS case, dear. :) Sorry, but NY doesn't get the points for that quote.

Oh, right, right. I chalk that up the confusingly named New York court system.

Do you know any similarly awesome phrasing from any New York courts?

@Grand Moff Rym: Excellent choice, sir.

That's however not instantly obvious to the majority of people out there. My taxonomy also sucks, so I'm one of those people.

My Star Wars knowledge is crap. So I'm gonna associate that title with the Dutch derogatory term for Nazis, just so you know.
  • ShaZAM. Fun meme.

I think I like Neckpuncher best.

I'd have prefered "The Sexy Avenger"
I was too lazy to get an avatar, so I kept Nillia in there.

Um no Nine...no, not at all. Grand Moff is basically a regional governor. In this case the Grand Moff Rym is referring to, is the one who was in charge of the Death Star.

HA! Eddie Izzard is always great no matter what!

I was tempted to change mine to "Butt Attack Punisher Girl Eryn" in response, but it's too long. Even "Butt Attack Girl Eryn" is one character too long. Boo. :(
  • Well, I picked Sail because... I sail. And it sounds kinda cool. I tend to think that names that are simple, single nouns are among the coolest names you could pick.
Yup, pretty much same here. And just one word keeps it real simple, which is nice.

That would just win the thread. I would have to bow to that. But high rulers bow to no one!
  • I'm a Praetor! Elected official of the Roman Republic! I think it's pretty nifty...
  • It's about time I got in on these shenanigans.

Pffft, one pharaoh or God-emperor will have you on your knees. Also, isn't Anax the masculine form?
