I had planed on picking it up today. I'm still waiting for my Wii to be returned from repair because it wouldn't read game disks. We'll see if it reads the dual layer disk, I'm not hopeful about this, Kotaku and Joystick both have reports of people with problems.
The game is so good, though. (Although, I have only played around half of the Subspace Emissary at a friend's house) One gripe I have is that you can't copy the game data, that would have saved me a lot of time in the future.
The Subspace Emissary has got to be like 8+ hours of bullshit. I'm not sure which would take longer to unlock the characters but I'm gonna hold out on the Subspace stuff. I mean, I'll eventually get to 300 brawls to unlock Sonic anyway, right?
I'm almost done with the Subspace Emissary thing and I don't think its that bad. Its a little platform game mixed in with my fighting game... which is also sort of a platformer. The story is ok, I'm sure it would make a whole lot more sense if there were actual words in the cut scenes, but they manage to basically convey it through the characters animations.
Picked it up at 11am, stopped for dinner at 7pm, and have been playing for pretty much the entire rest of the time.Me and my friend My friend and I were playing online earlier, and I had barely noticeable lag. Maybe it's just because we're doing it so late? Anyone else try the home-run thing? Me and my friend's Our record is 2250.9 ft
Indeed. I played against a friend who lives less than 10 blocks away and the lag spikes were incalculable.
I played with a friend in Alaska.
I don't mind the Subspace Emissary. Besides, in my current sick and sedentary state I have no other ways of unlocking characters. I played about 40% today.
New characters I'm favoring are Pit, Ike(What's not to like?), Metaknight, and Pokemon Trainer. New characters I am hating are Snake(His moveset feels completely out of place), Lucas(Worse version of Ness), and Olimar(Utterly useless).
Fuck the Subspace Emissary. About half way through it decides to pull this "maze" shit and make you go back through places you've already been. It's really stupid. I'll get the remaining characters some other way.
I actually like Subspace Emissary a lot, part of that may stem from my friend being very confrontational when we were playing. He would intentionally kill me by running off the screen and leaving me, but as soon as I found out about Player 2's instant teleport ability, the joke was on him. We did not make a very good team.

Your friend and Rym should play together. Rym is the same way with co-op games. We'll play River City Ransom, and he will inevitably just throw a tire at me instead of seriously trying to beat the game.

At least you can't actually kill your teammate by attacking them in SE.
He's way too slow. Lucas and Dedede, however, are amazing.

I played the game and unlocked all the good stuff (multilayer stages and the characters) and I have to say...not bad. Problem is that unless you know several people to play whenever you are in the gaming mood, it is kinda meh. The adventure mode is WAYYYYY too long, while classic mode is just right.
How does snake fight in brawl? He is the character I have been wanting to play as for forever. If only brawl would get here. Amazon said it would arrive around Friday, so I haven't exactly played brawl yet.

He uses mostly long range attacks and does not work very well in an actual melee, you should stay back and work more tactically while using him. In other words, think before you act.
Snake is the broken character of Brawl, in my opinion. All of his attacks take an incredibly long time to set up and there is very little practicality in using him.

Anyway, I really like Ike, Snake and DeDeDe.
