I would, but I already have plans with fairly large groups of people (8-10) for both AB and Otakon.
Ditch 'em, or make them switch. PAX East is the week before AB in the same exact building. Not a big deal to change, and not too late. Don't do anything you will regret.

Listen to Scott. Seriously. You'll make cooler friends at PAX. :P

Perhaps regardless of the quality of the friends that are replacing those you suggest he ditch, he would simply like to be a kind person and not abandon the friends he has.
People who are short on money should sign up to be Enforcers.
Seriously, my friend Abby has me so sold on the idea. She said, iirc, that last year Enforcers got free entry and reimbursement for one night of of their hotel stay in exchange for one, six-hour shift during the con. Also, according to her, all Enforcers are awesome, and you get to hang out with all these awesome people all weekend.
When does PAX West usually fall? That might be a better option for me at this point.
Normally Labor Day Weekend.

Still contemplating whether or not I want to be one again. My boyfriend has no interest in being one, however I'm trying to convince him otherwise.

I was being sarcastic, but that aside, I honestly enjoy PAX > anime conventions. That's just me though.
I'm more apt to do AX to meet up with you and Sonic and to start getting acquainted with California, so that's probably the plan.
Sweeeeet.
I will see you and hopefully other Westerners at a future PAX East or similar Eastern con in the future right?
There is actually a chance I might be coming to Otakon this summer. I've been offered a free place to stay and a ticket, so it's mostly a matter of plane tickets and being able to get off work for travel days. We'll see if it works out.
I might head out East this summer (though, towards Massachusetts) about the time of Otakon...If that works out, I'll probably go and visit relatives in DC on my way up to MA.

Ohh, when you gonna be in MA? What part? We could meet up and get some drinks or something.

If all things work, early August, but I'm probably not going to be in Boston. I'll be on Martha's Vineyard, if anything, though I should stress that it wouldn't be due to any particular wealth. A relative has owned a house on the island since god knows when, and I'm likely going to be there doing a lot of fishing.
Plus, the plans are very tentative to begin with. They might not happen at all, in which case I'll likely be at Otacon and hanging in DC for a while.
I've registered for a three-day badge as of now, but now I have to work out a flight and hotel. As with many of you here, my funds are limited, but for me the opportunity cost is far greater - at least for the foreseeable future, my being in the USA is not a common event.

I would suggest that anyone who is planning on going to pre reg ASAP because it will more than likely sell out like PAX West did.
I will be attending along with my boyfriend, Jeremy. So I am beyond looking forward to meeting up with all you east coasters. ^_^

However, if I don't do PAX East, I can almost definitely pull a trip to AX this summer.
Naw, you can do whatever you want
