  • I do love how completely and totally bastardly Joffrey is. Tyrion is still the best character.
  • The show is just too scatterbrained, and I know from book spoilers that all these threads just increase in number without colliding in any interesting ways for the most part.

I have to agree that Arya and Tyrion are the best characters. The question is, who gets third place?
    Sean Bean.
He loses major points for making such bad decisions; after all, he's basically the root cause of so much shit that went wrong. I do wonder what would've happened if Sansa hadn't turned informant, though.

There's something to be said for Cersei as well, in a similar vein.

Also, Tywin Lannister is actually somewhat likeable, I'd say.

It does seem that way. I feel as though it can't possibly have a satisfying ending - there's too much going on.

But I'll watch it anyway, because I'm a sucker for backstabbing politics and tits.

  • I am really enjoying the character development of Jamie. Of the characters in the books, he has so far the greatest character development arc.

    I like John Snow.

Jon is a little too angsty, but at least he isn't that stupid.

Oh I love Jon Snow and all the other characters, but I know how they are going to behave, Jamie is the one character who over time changed how he behaved and therefore is interesting.

Did you have a stroke while typing that last sentence?
  • I sort of lost interest in Breaking Bad right around when the whole "kidnapped in the desert" thing happened.
At the beginning of Season 2? Trust me, you would have wanted to see that pay off. One thing Breaking Bad does amazingly is giving true depth to every single one of it's characters. Especially with Walt and Jessie, but the side characters and villains really get a lot of dimension. And the series gets better with every single season. If you get halfway to Season 2 and still not sold, then I'll understand.
Comparing My Little Pony to Breaking Bad....
John De Lancie is in Season 2 of Breaking Bad...has one epic speech!
  • Sorta, I gotta stop talking to my boss AND typing in the forums, without rereading. You can't multitask :-p

BB definitely dragged for me in season 2, but I powered through and it paid off.

  • I don't care about Jon Snow mostly because the fat guy following him around is boring, whiny, and reeks of fat-nerd-mary-sue.

But Rym, Sam is the only one that can read.

I think Arya is one of the more interesting characters (in the book). It just feels like her story is so separated, why even have it at all?
  • That's the other thing. I don't remember most characters names, so little regard do I have for their plots.

Now, if The Prince of Nothing were made into a show with a similar style...
  • Sam is cool, even though he does have some of those annoying characteristics. However, is love for knowledge proves well in the series along with him doing something cool later on.

HBO would be like, "Whoa, guys, what's with all the rape and violence against women?"

  • Boss was excellent and Kelsey Grammer was outstanding. If you like your politics dial turned to "11," then this is a show for you.

The third episode of Newsroom has been the best so far. The first was good, the second was eh, and I was beginning to worry that Sorkin is just recycling plots and characters from his previous shows (which he still may be doing), but this show is a smart person's wet dream as to how the news should be.

Ok, I need to watch this show ASAP.

It’s not a Death Ray or an icebeam
    That’s so Johnny Snow

I just think you need time to know
That I’m the guy to make it real
The feelings you don’t dare to feel

I’ll bend the world to our will
And we’ll make time stand sti-hill

Why isn't HBO doing this for Game of Thrones?

  • Because Game of Thrones is a bona fide hit already and there's no need to?

The need to comes from being the most pirated show on television when they could be at least getting Youtube ad revenue from some of those people rather than none.

You're assuming HBO's purpose is to get ad revenue. I don't think it is. They want subscriptions. HBO put the first episode of the Newsroom on Youtube to try and increase subscriptions. HBO doesn't seem interested at all in ad revenue from its shows. They want you to subscribe to their service.
  • I would easily pay $5/month for HBO Go and that's it. At least HBO is on the right track with releasing the first episode for free on YouTube. Like Nintendo, they are close, but also falling short from greatness.

  • Workaholics is actually really fucking funny.

Well, I'm pirating the first episode of the newsroom, because they've made that content unavailable here.

The newer seasons are a lot better too. The first one was pretty good but I'm really liking the new ones. Also I don't understand why people thing Daniel Tosh is an asshole. He is clearly being very sarcastic.
