  • Today, your wish is granted
It has now become apparent that a higher power is looking out for me.
  • Don't forget that Sim City 4 is there for $5.

Only thing I'm even remotely interested in, here.

Snatched up Sims 3 and two DLC packs. Anybody wishing to tell me I wasted my money, do so now. I'll be playing Sims.

EDIT: I mean, I'll be playing Sims when it finishes downloading in the hour... oh well. Portal 2 time!

  • Mass Effect 1 is on sale for 5 bucks, 2 for 10 bucks, and ME2: Super Special Chocolatey Coated Edition is 20.
  • Dwarfs!? looks really interesting. It's like someone did what was talked about with Project DORF, and then cut out a voluminous amount of irritating micromanaging.

They emailed me a key for this but I haven't had time to check it out. I will have to give it a look this weekend.

I think you're looking at the Digital Deluxe Edition.
  • Mass Effect 2 is definitely $10. The "digital deluxe edition" is $20. Looks like Steam's dicking their non-US audience once again.
  • Ah, it's 16 usd then. Fuck this price gouging.

If someone will send me Mass Effect 2 from the US, I will return with Dwarfs?!. That way we both save money.

This EA week is killing me.

Anyone who wants to preemptively strike and help you out can feel free to do so, but I'm seriously considering this. I just need to make sure I have enough money for Portal 2 come the end of next week. I'll let you know by midnight CST.

  • Half an hour late on my end, but anyway, I shouldn't buy any games right now. Not in the budget; I want to get Portal 2 sometime soon.
  • Could you email me your paypal address and I'll just send you the money for it.
  • I don't have a PayPal address, otherwise I'd give you the hookup for sure.

Isn't it possible to set up a US Steam Account and then gift yourself the thing at the US pricepoint?
  • Nope, you need a US credit/debit card.
  • Fucking balls, man. Sorry.
  • Nope, you need a US credit/debit card.
Ah, Only one problem - I have a steam account that gives me everything at the US pricepoint(convenient for me, actually, considering the AUD). Which I set up while I was in the UK and now use in Australia. I most certainly don't have a US Credit/debit card, either - I pay with my Australian cards - ANZ, and later, WestPac.
  • Today's page updated early: Dead Space 1 for £4 seems good.

Is it just a third person shooter? Who needs another one of those?

Fortix 2 looks interesting, but too much money.

Also, I played the Darkspore Beta. Do not make the mistake of getting that game. All you do is walk around and hit things. It's like Diablo, only somehow more boring. It would be more fun to play Torchlight, even after you've beaten Torchlight, than to play Darkspore.

Dead Space is seriously overrated. Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation)'s review is pretty accurate.
  • Overrated for £4?
  • Overrated for £4?
I played it for a few hours; you'd have to pay me to finish it. It's just boring, really.
  • It is Metal of Honor (it least it had good sound design) and Battlefield day (or until the store updates since I did not see it yesterday) on steam.
  • I played the Dead Space demo way back when and was pretty unimpressed. The controls/aiming didn't feel right, and enemies came at you from everywhere. It felt a bit like the old Space Hulk game except you get one guy and all his guns suck.
  • So the new offer box down the side of the Steam main page is going to change daily.

Gentlemen, it's been good knowing you all.
