You know, I honestly can't think of any game I don't have right this second that I really want on Steam. Between Fallout: New Vegas, TF2, and Mass Effect alone, I have little time for new games.
Same, except for I don't have any of those games (EDIT: oh yeah, I do own TF2 but never play it), and I have lots of time for those games but little patience.
The way Scott is about board games I am about video games. "Seen it." "Seen it." "Same thing, different skin." "Oh boy, this looks fun! Sweet level 3... k it's all the same again." "Solved." "Does anyone actually try anymore?" "Fuck video games."
As much love as I have for games like Dwarf Fortress, I still don't play even those that much. I live in a sad world of loathing.
Anything actually novel coming out that I should care about and maybe look at on Steam?

I like to use steam sales as a time to collect on debts. I remind people of the circumstances that caused them to owe me money, the amount of money they owe me, and then request games totaling that amount or less. I kept being away when Super Meat Boy was on sale over last Christmas, so here's to hoping that it goes on sale again. And maybe I'll pick up HL1 if it is sufficiently cheap, if for no reason other than the cool mods.
I got HL1 for like a dollar at a garage sale, activated it on steam and got a whole bunch of shit free like CS 1.6 because I guess the code worked as the Half-life collection thing.
I got a kid to give me his HL1 CD-KEY in high school. The day Steam came out it detected a legal HL1 on my machine and gave me all kinds of stuff for free like CS and DoD. I bought HL:2, HL:2 Episode 1, and Orange Box on Steam. Because of the way it worked out I had to buy Half-Life: Source on its own during some crazy sale. I'm pretty sure CS:Source was free for me as well. Don't have DoD: Source, though. I never understood that game anyway.
I bought a half life box set with 4 expansions once for $10. They all came with a code and, if I recall correctly, they all registered as a HL1 cd key, so I just have a ton of keys lying around. Whisper me if you're interested...
But do not be surprised if I... ahh... collect on a debt at some point :P
Well, it's certainly no Custer's Revenge, but it's not like I'm going to be spending a great deal of time on it.
Nor I, admittedly. It's the kinda thing I'd play while just hanging out and talking shit online, where the game isn't really as important, or as a simple, cheap game to play with friends. It's like novelty maps in counterstrike or TF2, or playing some game with insane rules on smash brothers when you're drunk with mates - It's completely shits and giggles, kinda Meh alone, but in the right time and place, it's good for some laughs. I've also had a few cracks at it as a warmup game when playing online with friends, because it's simple and not hugely hard, enough to give a little bit of stretch to the metaphorical muscles, but not enough to be a serious exercise.
Holiday sale where I barely bough anything, because I had gotten most interesting games on previous summer sale. Let's see if there's something new and interesting this year.
1. think of games you want now 2. add them to wishlist 3. only buy them if they appear on the front page specials 4. if they don't, buy them on the last day

(Unless you mean Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat (or CS:Condition Zero))
There's a couple thousand things listed in the Specials page.
1. think of games you want now
2. add them to wishlist
3. only buy them if they appear on the front page specials
4. if they don't, buy them on the last day
