  • Chromecast is insanely good, since I've bought mine I haven't used any physical media or needed to transfer anything but my phone to the home theatre or my friend's house.

It's way more useful now that you can mirror basically anything on any Android device of reasonable power.
  • The Roku is still better for solo browsing and watching.

Chromecast is way better when you have a group over, and you're all trying to share cat videos.
  • I like my chromecast but I've had some connectivity issues, partially due to my internet connection, and also keeping it connected to my phone. Sometimes a show will keep playing on the Chromecast but the Netflix app on my phone will forget it's connected and I'll have to unplug the Chromecast to restart it. Though now its supposed to work with some TV remotes so I'll have to see if I can get that to work.

Solo browsing and watching what? You can just cast anything you find on your phone or anything from a desktop running Chrome.
Running from dedicated OS (e.g. Windows Linux, OSX or Android) rather than a mini interface is infinitely better.
  • Everything. I can browse Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Crunchy Roll, Amazon Prime, Nowhere Porn*,,, on the TV instead of having to use my phone. I like using the remote to flip through things. Searching on my phone gets annoying.

I do have an iPhone. The interface maybe different.

    *Best porn streamer ever!!!
  • You watch that much porn?
  • I don't really think I'd wanna watch it that much on the big tv, even if I didn't have a roommate. Don't want to freak out the neighbors. Maybe if you're having an orgy or something and you're into that "scene".
  • Totes. I can't go any blinder.

Curtains are closed and the sound is at a reasonable level. Besides that. It's my house.
    I do what I want.

I imagine orgies are quite loud. Maybe? I'm into plenty "scenes". I should do some research.
  • There's one complaint I keep seeing, that I don't get with the look of the new joker(Which is another story again):

"Oh, the joker couldn't possibly sit there for hours while he's getting tattooed."

And yet, these motherfuckers have zero problems with the fact that 90% of his plans are about as meticulous and precise as world-record domino fall pictures, requiring months of planning and preparation, precise timing and incredible powers of prediction(or at least, an enormous amount of contingencies), and enormous sums of money, which has to come from other crimes, which would also have to be meticulously planned and perfectly executed - since Batman to this day can't find out anything about the Joker, nor would he leave him unmolested if he could get clues and track him back to a hideout.

But yet, the thing they have a problem with is not the months of endless planning, prep, and likely trial runs, or the fact that he'd have to be a masterful financial planner to actually get his shit all in order, but that he can't sit still to get tattoos.
  • The joker strikes me as someone who commits to what he wants. So if he wanted to get a tattoo he would get a tattoo.
  • The butthurt over this has made me finally realize that I'm too old (or have finally realized that life is too short) to be a particularly enthusiastic fan of anything.

I'm a fan of Elizabeth Warren but I don't care how she cuts her hair. I'm a huge fan of Weird Al Yankovich because he's so talented and so down to Earth at the same time.

I'm a fan of Batman but couldn't possibly care less which reboot we're in, which backstory belongs to which canon, and whether the Joker looks like a hipster or whatever.
  • I know there are other threads that are more appropriate, but that takes searching.

Found the new design for my iPhone 6 case. I was planning on making a custom design of something something pixel art Yoshi/Seahawks, but I don't have time for that. So I'm sticking with the awesome Isabelle.

  • The degree to which any asshole on the internet is invested in maintaining his fingers-in-ears bullshit self-aggrandizing worldview is always going to be greater than anyone's investment in convincing just one asshole on the internet that they're wrong.
  • Hmm, with Siri and Cortana I wonder if there isn't open source code to make a personalized assistant so you could have Isabella on your phone.

  • Gah. Such a busy week with life and sports.

    1) NFL Draft
    2) Avengers 2
    3) Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight.

Lots of excitement over the next few days for me. :3
  • I had a dream two nights ago that I owned a dog just like Isabelle. It was delightful.
  • Like, anthropomorphic dog? Or just a dog?
  • It was a normal dog, but took all his calls and scheduled his meetings.

Combination of both. Just like a normal dog, but it had Isabelle's head. And yes, it took calls and could calmly sit in the backseat.
  • Our police chief died in a motorcycle accident yesterday. So sad. He was a good man. :(
  • I didn't realize that all the major cities in Texas seem to be right next to each other. Guess they're not actually that close (like 5 hours away) but still on a map they look like they're all in one corner.

They're mostly in the less desert-like areas.

Yup. Those areas are slowly turning into desert too :(

Uber shuts down in Kansas, after Kansas makes revisions to the taxi and non-livery services, requiring stricter background checks and effectively ending Uber's monopoly on non-livery services in the state. Uber and their white tech bro cheerleader and defense squad is predictably throwing a giant tantrum and saying they're being unfairly targeted, despite the fact that the rules actually make it easier to operate legally.

Lyft, on the other hand, is considering coming back to Kansas.

  • I don't really care if it's Uber or Lyft, just as long as I don't need to deal with bullshit from yellow cabs.

Personally, I like Lyft. They seem to be a more standup company than uber, not that it's hard.
  • From my experiences I like Lyft more typically, but in Seattle there just tends to be more Uber drivers so it can be easier to get a ride. I've had people cancel me halfway through coming to get me on Lyft at least once too which was kinda annoying.
