    Yep, Minecraft not working on Ubuntu (No keyboard input.). Wanted to test out my new discovery that snow blocks aren't destroyed by torchlight.

    Be careful with that. It's a bit unpredictable. There have been varying reports of heat variables from glowstone. Some people have reported that it can even catch wood on fire given the right circumstances. Personally, I've never had a problem.

    FYI: Minepedia says glowstone melts ice and snow. It could be wrong, but that's what it says.

    The Freemines now accidentally connects to the mines under that skyscraper north of the main city. I think it's Destrucci's place that I dug into.

    If you're using a texture pack, chances are you will have issues. You might want to revert to vanilla until the community updates the packs.

    As happens every time, the update destroyed our server mod. I have us up and running on a vanilla server with the same map, but all our cool plugins are gone. This means NO PERMANENT DAY. Beware the monsters.

    I was on last night and if anything things seem to speed up for me. Could have been I was possibly the only player on I think. Not sure /playerlist isn't working anymore.

    /playerlist is a function of the mod, which was disabled by the update to β1.2.

    There's quite an upset in the MC community now, because nearly everyone who runs a server uses hMod to give it functionality that the vanilla server simply doesn't have. The creator of hMod has lost interest in the project, and the modders who were helping him update it have jumped ship to work on a new server mod called Bukkit. Bukkit is supposed to be the Second Coming, but isn't due out yet for quite some time.

    Vanilla has /list, which is quite functional. I'm still waiting on Bukkit, though.

    If you're using a texture pack, revert to default and try again. There have been people on the server all day. There have been reports of a 504 timeout error, but it is not persistent.

    I turned off the custom graphics and I can connect, but the lag is around 3-5 seconds.

    It happened to me as well for the first like 30min, then it went back to normal.
