No, your server. I can log into Minecraft, couldn't get onto your server.
The Minecraft multiplayer server talks to minecraft.net every time a player logs on (to check that their account is real and logged in, presumably). So Notch's server problems very much do affect Jason's.
Inventory chests wont open, I can't figure out the teleporters, sometimes doors and workbenches don't work, and in my efforts to find a patch of dirt I could call my own, there are two new holes in someones rather lovely home.
I was trekking across the land with nary a wooden sword when I saw a B-E-A-utiful floating pagoda. I was curious, so I swam up one of the waterfalls and started poking around. I stumbled into a garden/farm type area (which I could never figure out how to do) and was admiring the construction when I heard something.
*rustle rustle rustle*"Wait a second...."*HISSSSSS*"SHIT!" I ran as soon as I noticed but *BOOM!* I took some damage and was thrown. "SHIT SHIT SHIT Why are there monsters up here?!" I see another creeper nearby, but it's too late, it's too close. I try to attack it and run away but *BOOM*. Next thing I know, I'm falling and I land on top of some cacti. I died.
So... Sorry to whoever's home got a bit blown up. <.<
Anyway, I respawned and managed to mine a little bit out in the free mines. Got some stone and made a better pickaxe.
Then I was killed by a zombie. I'm going back to get my damned pickaxe, but I'm holed up in a cave right now waiting for daylight, running from skelly arrow guys.

Yeah, I've noticed that on Secondus, sometimes you have to wait around a few seconds for it to realise what you're doing. Sometimes it won't quite work, but try a few times, it does eventually. Most of the time.

The few times I break the "Never dig straight down" rule, are usually making little spider-holes to crawl into for the night - Dig down three blocks, and replace the cover for the night. When I hear zombie pain sounds, I cautiously emerge.

Well, I've been taking shelter in the mine near the center of commerce out of secondus. I think I'll start building my sky pavilion on one of the hills near there.
Oh god...when you say 'floating' do you mean on water or up in the air....because it might have been my sky palace. It has two gardens (one with reeds and one with trees/flowers and a fountain)...sounds like one got blowed up... I'll have to put down more torches in the garden to prevent enemies from spawning there if that's the. When I first built the place, we had eternal day, therefore no monsters, therefore no torches. God damnit.
It sounds like you are currently near The Freemines. There are at least three ways to get in down there and everything is pretty well lit.
- There is a huge obsidian vault and catacombs, made by usrName, I believe (I'm sorry if I have misattributed this). To get there, head west from spawn until you come to the water. Just to the south, within eyesight, there will be a small pavilion. Go there and take the ladder down.
I don't have any obsidian but I do have a big catacomb system that connects a few caves but no obsidian.
Sonic, if you dig around the mines next to the Ode to Freud (that's that big ugly tower) please try to make them look more like rooms/ corridors, it would help a lot.
I have not been able to play for a while, this computer can't handle the mobs; but with my birthday tomorrow, I might get enough money to salvage my broken desktop. =w=;
OK, so when I get home I am going to turn off the mobs for a while to facilitate a new Golden Age of building.
But build strong. Build solidly. Fortify. Mobs will return anon.
Also, Sonic, the reason why you had trouble on your first visit is because MC was downloading an 86mb map and some 17,000,000,000,000,000,000 files to your compy. See, we've been playing a while, so when we log on we just get minor updates. You're getting the whole shebang at once, and that means some drag.
Also, I'm starting to grow restless. I would entertain the idea of spawning a new map. I will leave it in the hands of voters. Let it not be said that the Great Dictator does not hear the words of his people.
If the vote goes for a new map. The sky palace should be ported over to the new map. Or allow Macross some admin privileges to easily build a new one. Other than that I don't mind what everybody decides.
I'd like to keep the map, but I'm not so invested as to be upset if you drop it. If you're turning off monsters for I bit I NEED to jump in and torch my catacombs, they're the sort of place that would get infested fast.

I don't think it's possible to port chunks of map over. Also, if Sonic was actually there and the place was asploded by creepers, I'll have to assess the damage before deciding weather to bother repairing it or now.
The damage wasn't that bad. I would have repaired it myself if I had the materials. I can go over there during daylight and take pictures so that we can confirm it was yours or not (minecraft home insurance?).
And to clarify, it was quite large, floating in the air with multiple water and lava streams. Inside was a library of sorts. There was a lot of glass.

Whoever it belonged to, again, I'm very sorry...
That is, if Notch has everything ironed out on his end so that we can even get on. His migration to Amazon's S3 is still causing validation issues.
