The Luna Micro Series is shaping up to be the best comic series in awhile...and based off the quality of the Katie Cook/Any Price team, that's something!
On Christmas morning, I got to see the MLP fishing rod my brother is making for me. It's not done yet, but I LOVE it so far! I really need to go buy a pink reel to match this
So is it me or does this fandom move way to fast? There's already plushies and porn of Flutterbat.
There has been a culture of being the first to fan-art since season 1. The most memorable moment ever was when someone made a high quality Chrysalis plushie on day 0.
I watched the livestream of the first appearance of Chryssalis, and I remember seeing that plush completed like, an hour or two after I watched the episode.
Until the latest episode this season was better than most of last, but this latest one was basically about Pinkie Pie being a self-aware cartoon. Hopefully this is not the start of a downward trend as I was starting to get somewhat excited again about ponies.
Pinkie Apple Pie may be in the Top 5 of pony episodes for me. Easily Top 10.
Truly? Felt it was a somewhat basic episode, but...I guess that too could be its strength. Seriously, this season has all been about being wacky and zany, with the exception of Rarity Takes Manehatten and the Scootaloo episode that delved into mature subject matter.
As much as I can stomach the zany, seeing a cartoon take on mature sensibilities and emotions between characters is always preferred. That said, the simplicity of Pinkie Apple Pie, being in neither camp, did catch me off guard. Kind of like Look Before you Sleep in season 1. I may end up liking it more down the line.

I think I enjoyed it so much because this was one of the best uses of Pinkie in a rather long time. She's not just funny, but she feels generally heartfelt with loving the Apple Family. And the whole Apple Family is stronger than Applejack alone. I'd even say it was one of the funniest episodes too, with Pinkie's pictures and Goldie Delicious's cats. It's simple, but it does so many things right, that it makes me love the episode.
I'm in the minority here, but I think the Flight to the Finish is kind of meh. Aside from the message, it's sort of a typical, mediocre, CMC episode. I appreciate that by looking into it we could find a really deep, positive message, but from a story/humor perspective, it's not very interesting.
As usual, such essays shine a light on a single side of the coin, I am always leery on the tackling of such huge societal issues with nothing more than a torch, and with no solutions offered or in sight. For each cringe worthy point, there are probably an equal, and most possibly a much larger majority of positive stories.
From my own point of view, I personally have never seen such issues occur, call me fortunate, but I've worked in many large projects in the community, from games to animation, and never once was there such so called discrimination, in fact, all us guys were just really glad to be on the same starting page with the ladies.
I acknowledge these problems exist, and condemn them. I respect that this essay exists as well, but at the same time, have to criticize it for its ultimately narrow tone with regards to one of the larger societal issues of the age. Such a tone does more harm than good, and further drives a wedge into the issue, rather than promoting both parties to sit at the same table.
I don't see how it's a narrow tone when the essay goes out of its way and makes pains at several points to acknowledge that this stuff represents some, not all, of the fandom?

I'm liking this more than I probably have any right to.

This season has been constantly awesome so far. Daring Don't wasn't that good, but the rest so far is pretty good. WAY better than season 3.
