We are still 30+ days away, and we are already starting to go crazy in this thread. I don't know if this will be the best PAX yet, but it's already the most anticipated. Let's not get too carried away just yet. When we are in Boston, then everyone it is perfectly ok, nay it is mandatory, for everyone to completely lose their shit.
And also play Eclipse until 2AM.
I wasn't expecting you of all people to tell us to calm the fuck down. Where is the Scott Rubin who said he'd skip his own wedding to go to PAX?
I will bring my Logitech speaker dock I had last year for playing the Bohemian Rhapsody. It's just loud enough to be heard in the immediate area around the FRC'ers in line, so we will need some epic singing to fully carry the day, but I have faith. Oh, on a side note, are we using anything in place of the fallen Beluga?
I could safely say I am more excited to check out Anime Boston than PAX. Outside of board gaming with you guys and Jamspace, PAX really doesn't do it for me. However since I am double conning (think that is the correct phrase) going to have an awesome weekend regardless.
I think the capacity for my excitement for PAX doubles, so I can afford to continue to be excited. I just use that energy towards doing in regards to PAX.
I'm currently sleepy right now, but my excitement remains. PAX and preparations for it, remain in the back of my mind.
I think I found the boombox Visual Land portable Boombox. Doesn't do CDs, but the USB stick and memory Card might be enough to do its purpose, my alarm clock came with the male to male cable so all should work with this one. Thoughts otherwise?

Yay! Someone else double conning! Whcih day are you coming to AB?
I'll honestly admit that I basically plan to spend zero time at Anime Boston outside of lecturing. Despite being very deeply an anime fan, anime cons just don't do it for me. So little of what happens there (any anime con, not just AB) is compelling to someone like me, I find myself at a loss for what to do.
AB last year was very well run, and I had no complaints about the con itself. I simply had nothing to do. I think we spent almost the entire con in aWo/Mike Toole panels and tabletop, and actually spent a lot of our time outside of the con altogether. In-between a handful of particular events, I'd either wander around aimlessly or park myself in tabletop.
I'll also note that we met several friends in town who didn't buy AB badges, but who had zero problem getting into the con to play some games with us... ;^)
I'd say part of it is that the entire FRC basically bailed on anime cons as a concept once they attended their first PAX. Suddenly, the massive prereg line at Otakon seemed ludicrous. Suddenly, there was a con where the con itself provided the entertainment, rather than the room parties. We lost almost our entire "anime con posse" literally the first year after they all attended one PAX.
I would like to walk around the AB dealer's room at least once. I usually find at least one thing in there worth buying. Otherwise, in agreement with Rym.

Once their schedule is out I shall plan from there. Most of the time will be at PAX sadly because outside of my panel and the vendor hall I am also with Rym that most anime cons don't do it for me. However I am open to a new experience so most likely if everything pans out I will be there sometime on Friday and Saturday.
Normally that's how I plan most convention dealing, go to things that look interesting and eat when nothing is going on. I avoid lines that way.

Makes you wonder and possibly regret missing the previous PAXs. :P
It was quite the experience with the early ones that were at the Meyedenbauer. The town it was in, Bellevue, is alright. It's no Seattle, but the smaller center was pretty interesting. I have many a fond memory of those PAXs.
I'm just happy you guys finally decided to come in 2008, even though I encouraged you guys to come in 2007. :P
I remember Scott questioning the chairs in the back of the concert area. Now you guys know why there are chairs in the back area, but that was when they still held them at the convention center.
I am enforcing! I also want to go to Anime Boston's artist alley, but if I can't, I can't.
Oh wow, awesome! Make sure to check the special Enforcer only Twitter feed. I did see recently that badge pictures were due soon if not already passed. I hope your experience will be pleasant. Seriously, take advantage of [E] Land. That place is so fun and full of awesome people.
Also: massages. I have yet to actually get one, because I never really needed one, but they look heavenly.

Oh yeah, anyone who is Enforcing. Gotta make sure you do all the extra Enforcer stuff that you find out about in the Enforcer IRC and such.
Also, I would also like to go to the Artist Alley at AB just once. Good stuff in there.
Hear my words and bear witness to my vow. PAX gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until Monday. I shall take no swag, hold no controllers, catch no Pokemon. I shall wear no Omegathon crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the master sword in the darkness. I am the Beholder on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of Khoo. I pledge my life and honor to the Enforcers, for this PAX and all the PAXES to come.
A correction to the above: Twitch is providing free streams of PAX. If you want HD goodness, then you would need to pay. Knowing this, I think that will be ok. Cheap people will deal with the grain while the picky people to pay up and get their HD. Now there is no "stream" schedule yet but trying to talk to Twitch for my curiosity of what would actually be streamed.

Is it sad that I don't want to have my wedding in March or April because of PAX. :P
