Oh man. The confusion going on here must be stopped! Misakyra is the tasty baker, I am only an artist. Misakyra can do crazy shit with fondant. I can do crazy shit with a tablet pen. This is why I like using "@name" instead of "name:". The praise was nice though . I do however like the House/Zombie cake idea. Perhaps we can Collaborate, Misakyra ;3
@Jain7th- Nice design. Looks like a good portfolio piece.

Crap, you're right. That was a really dumb mistake on my part. Anyway. Zombie House cake! Get on it!
Nice textures. Is that Illustrator? Did you start with a sketch first, or just go for it with the shapes?
Yeah I use Illustrator pretty much all the time. I took a picture of my shoes, traced them and then used Effect > Sketch > Halftone Pattern on copies of a few shapes.
Thanks. I'm thinking I'm going to replace the keyboard drums on Head Stealer with the darbuka soon, since I can actually play some stuff that doesn't suck now.
5-26-09, inspired by heavy doses of Burzum and Sunn.
Really good work. What is the drone on this track? It almost sounds like an organ.
Keyboard set to "Church Organ." Other sounds include a pitched down flute, slowed down wood block drumming, and a mic being run over a broken drum head. I just finished putting together and decorating a demo CD, which I'm sending to NNF tomorrow morning. Even though I doubt much will come of it, just the thought of some of my favorite musicians hearing my music makes me giddy.

Dudedudedude, you have to let me hear it! This is the kind of stuff you keep me updated about, man.

I hope you're sending along some sort of nice, handwritten letter too, because this is the sort of thing you should say in it. Even if the answer is no for now, just showing the amount of care you put into the package you sent them will probably yield an email from them with valuable feedback and criticism.
Yeah, constructive criticism from any of those dudes is really what I'm aiming for with this. The letter thing is a very good idea. Actually, I'm going to put off sending it until I come up with something to write to them. I'll upload this to Mediafire in a second. Six tracks.
I'm finally done with my Mario through the NES ages cross-stitch, courtesy of Sprite Stitch, however I switched Hammer Suit Mario for Kuribo Shoe Mario.
I just need to get this mounted on a foam core board and eventually matted and framed. As for my next project, I really don't know. My computer is still away, and it has most of my ideas and cross-stitch program to make new patterns.
I guess I could have added Hammer Suit Mario to the piece. However, most aida cloth pieces that you can buy at a fabric store go as long as 18", and I went by the dimension the pattern online gave. If I added Hammer Suit Mario, I would have had to order a large roll of aida, from what I can see is only available online. Maybe down the road, if I choose to do this piece again, I would add him, but I had to make a choice, and Kuribo Shoe Mario > Hammer Suit Mario.
That's so awesome, Ro. What do you do with these? Frame them and put them up?
Pretty much. However, for this piece, I don't know how long it will be until I get it framed. Most places that offer professional framing services aren't cheap. Also the dimensions of the cross-stitch aren't normal to where I can just purchase a frame at the store.
If you remember my Yotsuba cross-stitch, I mounted that on a foam core board, attached a mat, and framed it myself. The mat wasn't the perfect size, so I had to do some cutting, which is a bit uneven. Overall it still came out well:
Thanks for the compliment.
Also to everyone else that has posted their stuff here over the last few pages, you all are amazing. Mr. Roboto, I love your plushie DS caddy. Misakyra, I adore your confections, and Funfetus, you never cease to amaze me. ^_^
So, I made this stuffed... thing... for my girlfriend. Started out as a sheet of sketches that I showed her best friend, and she picked the one that she thought my girlfriend would like the most. I then spent two afternoons sewing it all together, and it looks pretty good. Better than a cat that I did a year ago. Would you guys buy things like these? I'm wanting to make some along the same lines, and was wondering if anyone was interested. Figured this would be the place to ask.

I think things like these are the best when they're homemade. If I was going to give something like that to my girlfriend (and thanks for the idea!), I'd want to make it myself.

Did she like it?
She loves it. She'll randomly thank me for it, and she cuddles it to sleep every night, from what I understand.

In the second version the arms don't collide with the ribs any more.
