  • Chipmunks are like mini badgers.
    Appropriate for mini-dachshunds, I guess.
  • Fail: I let my inbox heap up to a massive and intimidating 15 emails.
Win: It only took me an hour to deals with every one.
Fail: If it only took an hour, I should have dealt with them on Monday night.
  • Fifteen? Tell me that's a typo.
  • I doubt it.

I keep my inbox as empty as possible. As soon as I read one, I either archive it or reply to it. Once I start putting off replies, it gets harder to go back to a large number, and it then just increases. Fifteen emails to reply to, with thoughtful and meaningful replies, isn't too bad. At least I knew every single one was important though.
  • Boo yah: I recorded another rap song.

Fail: It isn't perfect, and I have to restrain myself from iterating on it until I lose my voice.

Fail: I originally posted this in the wrong thread.
  • Booh Yah: My brother is going to Otakon, probably!

    Fail: I'm still not!...
  • WIN!: I found a nice place for lunch that serves bubble tea and other tasty atypical Asian cuisine. It's very good setting for a second or third. ^_^ (gizzards, ox tail, soft bone chicken,,,)

FAIL!: I my bubble tea was knocked over in transit. ;_; I can never manage get a second date.
  • Booh-Yah: I just beat Golden Sun 1 (I'd beaten it many years before) and it was as awesome as I remember and I still dig the story.

Fail: I played it on an emulator and cannot transfer my data via link since emulators just cannot do that whatsoever.

Booh-Yah: There is an alternate way of doing it by typing in 1 of 3 passwords (Bronze, Silver, or Gold). Bronze gives you some things, but Gold gives you everything

Fail: The Gold password is six pages long with 24 characters to type on each. This will be incredibly monotonous and tedious, but oh well.

You know how I know I have been working in Chinatown a long time? For me, that is "typical Chinese food." I drink bubble tea more often than I drink Cola.

Bubble tea? You mean Boba? Bleh >.< That stuff tastes nasty, especially if you accidentally get one of the bubbles.
  • Fail: Having not gone running in a long time, I dehydrated big time.
Boo-yah: But I fucking did it. I got knocked down, but I got up and on with my life. Now matter how many times it takes!

Good job, having recently got myself back into running and ran a half-marathon Keep up the good work! (I've lost about 20 pounds because of running)
  • Four glasses of water later and my head is only slightly uncomfortable.
  • Fail: The farmer's market near my work that had amazing peaches last week only had hard peahces today.
Win: The cheese tent had some fantastic cheeses and I am bringing the herb fired goat cheese and sun-dried tomato, basil and mozzarella rotellini home for Adam. ^_~
  • Going to the market? Going to eat a lot of peaches?

You don't eat peaches at a market. Everyone knows that peaches come from a can.
  • But.. how did they get into the can in the first place?

    ...in a factory down town.

But the real question is, if you had your way, how often would you eat said peaches?

  • They were put there by a man.
Who was put there by uncanned peaches!

@Kate: That depends upon, the price and available quantity.

For instance, if there were millions of peaches, peaches for me, millions of peaches, peaches for free.
Then, if I had my little way, I'd eat peaches every day.

Boo-yah: Just restoring back to the last day fixed the problem making me look awesome to my co-workers yet again ;-p

This is all about perspective. While bubble tea is a common in Chinatown, it not common site outside of a dense Asian community. Therefore, bubble tea is atypical. I expect to see Lo Mein, Sweet&Sour; Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, Fried Rice, Egg Rolls,,, on the average everyday nondescript Asian restaurant. The one near Alex's place for example. I didn't expect to see skewered chicken gizzards, ox tail hop pots, or bubble tea from random restaurant in Albany.

I'm glad to see it make an appearance. I'm just excited for the expanded variety of culinary options.
  • Fail: Worked 12 hours of overtime this past pay period. Note that because I technically work a 37.5 hour week (5 unpaid .5 hour lunches in an 8 hour workday), I have to work an extra 2.5 hours before I start actually accruing overtime. So, that 12 hours actually represents 17 hours over my normal work schedule. Ugh. Tiring.

Boo-Yah: Earning 12 hours of overtime pay. My paycheck is suddenly a lot bigger.

But what I am saying is that is not "atypical" Chinese food, the ones that are the American-Chinese dishes are typical of a different kind of Chinese cooking. General Tso's is more uncommon than bubble tea in China (did you know that it was a dish invented in the US? I made its way back to China in some places, kind of like Philly rolls with sushi.)
  • did you know that it was a dish invented in the US?
China sent a General to the U.S. to attack our taste buds and circumvent our defenses with culinary espionage!?!?! Very sneaky China...
  • BooYah! - It's looking like Rudd is on the outs - there's been a leadership challenge, and Julia Gilliard, the Deputy PM is looking to take over from the Milky Bar kid.

EDIT - While I was typing this, the unofficial verdict came out from the ministers via twitter - Rudd is out. No longer Prime Minister. Goodbye, milky bar kid, it's been a gas, you motherfucker. Also, apparently, despite comments from sunrise that "He'd look like a fool if he backed down now, and then the numbers came out" and their "speaking for the voting public", saying "If we'd have wanted Gilliard, we'd have voted for her. Rudd will win in the end, and the backstabbing Gilliard's career will end." - There wasn't even a need to vote on it. Gilliard won the leadership challenge apparently unopposed. PWNED.

Also, she's our first female Prime Minister - Cool.

Fail - Julia Gilliard will take over, and we still have the same labor government backing her. If anything, the unions will gain even more power from it, as she's always been hardcore about doing just about whatever they say.

Fail - Every single news outlet is saying Kevin Rudd is likely on the outs, except for seven's sunrise, which is backing him hardcore - They are only reading supportive messages, or messages against the process by which this is happening, are making unsourced statements about how he's going to win, decrying MPs who are supporting Gilliard as backstabbers, and of course, speaking for the Australian people when they have no such right to do so or even voice.

Boo-yah - The current Labor government, no matter who is at the head, will likely not last past the next election.

I wonder if Australia post-Labor will be like Spain post-Franco: topless girls everywhere, porn sold at convenience stores next to candy (and broadcast on TV), and an ultraviolent video game for every child?
